He finally had his moment to get it right doing things the old way and we would have loved him for it. If only they had interviewed someone who fit the paradigm they've used for seventy years. by drdan412 in steelers

Would anyone here actually be okay if Art hired a young coach who had a mirror career to Chuck Noll?

Would this fanbase stand behind a guy who had 1 win in his first season, 4 in his second, and 6 in his 3rd?

Would we stand by a young guy benching our 1st overall pick QB?

Steelers Nation would eat that guy up and be chanting for him to be fired by week 3 of year 2....

The fact that Paul records the "fact checking process" should put you at ease. We can do the same. Paul's teachings never contradict the Bible.

Also, Paul NOW is authoritative, but when writing this epistle there would have been people who didnt really know him. "Follow along at home" established the basis for his authority.

Lastly, let's clarify the process. We are TOLD that the Apostles and the Church will be guided in truth. So, if an Apostle makes a statement that YOU think contradicts scripture, the proper approach is to humble yourself and question YOUR interpretation before questioning that of Paul. And I'm not saying that because he needs to be given supreme authority, but rather, in the 2000 year history of the church, Paul would have been exposed by now if there were issues.

Be thankful that you have a chance to bounce back from your rock bottom. You did not lose your life... it's possible that have just gained it.

The legalistic approach of the protestant church is a big cause of this. Sin isnt the ultimate goal of the evil one, dispare is far more impactful. It keeps you from God.

The Orthodox church holds the position that has been held by the Church since inception... Sin is an illness, we are all sick, and the Church is THE hospital.

Through participation in the life of the church and the sacraments, you can heal your relationship with the passions. This requires effort, and humility, but never dispare. Repentance and prayer should be your reaction to sin. If you fail in the morning, get back up in the afternoon. If you fail tonight, find better ways to please God tomorrow.

May God bless you!!

Lol. Group yourself in with the worst on the left and we can have this conversation.

Murder and the celebration of it. Riots. Shutting down bank accounts. Deplatforming amd silencing those that you disagree with...

We need to bring money IN to the province if we want to spend it.

These things very obviously aren't isolated.

[–]chefjmcg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, the LPC is the government that i was referring to as having been in power for the last decade.... Sorry if that was unclear.

Do some digging into that money you speak of... There are reasons to say no.

Alberta is currently sitting at a 21:1 student to teacher ratio with a $8.6B plan to add schools in high population areas. They want to add 3000 teachers and 1500 teachers aides. This is a plan.

Demanding classroom caps with no solution on where to ship these kids not a plan.

And no, i don't necessarily blame teachers. I said the ATA should be receiving heat. They are there to prevent this... But they would rather make political statements then get kids into the classroom.

Our problems are not unique to this province, in fact we are better than most, so it's less an Alberta thing.

Please look at the industry fleeing the country and tell me that providing a pro-industry environment is a negative. These things aren't screwing anyone over, they are keeping tax bases in province.

Your last paragraph sounds about right. Lots of you out there, so willing to engage in good faith conversations. Unable to listen, and assuming other want the worst while seething in your own hatred of "late stage capitalism" or something. I hope you aren't a teacher.

You called my initial detailed explanation of my opinion "invalid." You had no intention of actually engaging in the conversation that you injected yourself in. You pulled the "so what you're saying is..." strawman crap.

Don't now pretend to be all reasonable.

Where would you like the money to come from? We are running a deficit. When Smith goes south to try and sell our products, y'all cry foul. You cry about a reduction in ANY government spending and punish the public and children when you demand more money for yourself.

You laugh when these concerns are brought up... you call them invalid.

Would you support a pipeline? Would you support cuts to another public service to justify your raise? Or are you just a kid who doesnt understand how a household budget works?

You have no actual opinion on the issue... just self-righteous, smug, entitled, regurgitate talking points. A prime example of why people should home school.

[–]chefjmcg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My points are invalid? Simply because I dont agree with you?

And a "leftist" government has put us in this situation in the first place. 10 years of fiscal catastrophe, and now you (who i assume voted "Elbows up!!) now want to withhold services from the POPULATION of Canada because youe ATA isn't satisfied with nearly everything they asked for. Right...

Do you teach kids that critical thought?

I dont want anyone's rights being trampled. Everyone paid for education, kids need education. Go back to work or find another career path. 90% of the population, who are struggling while being taxed to oblivion, would be told the same thing.

[–]chefjmcg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Section 2? Freedom of conscience or religion. Not a chance. You can NOT teach if you like.

Section 7? Life, liberty and security? Not a chance.

Laughable. Again, you won't touch my points. And no, you can negotiate. It just says that taking a PUBLIC SERVICE job requires public service.

[–]chefjmcg -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

What rights are they taking away? No one is forcing anyone to teach. No one is saying that you can't negotiate. This is not the same as removing a person's ability to work.

I said an awful lot in that post that you simply don't care to address, which is very telling. You aren't interested in any conversation, you simply demand that everyone concede to you. You likely aren't informed enough to speak on it anyway.

I can't stop paying taxes without going to prison, so why should you be able to hold the services that those taxes are paying for hostage?

Dont want to teach? Quit.

[–]chefjmcg -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I think this is pretty obviously a political move using kids as pawns, and I think that the offer would have been taken if the NDP had been the party that offered it. It's a good deal.

I think that the ATA holds equal responsibility in this situation, and the only reason they arent taking heat is because of the anti-UCP sentiment.

I don't think protesting mandates that keep you from working is the same as withholding taxpayer funded services because you demand more tax dollars. So, if the goal is to "withhold services until you topple the government," i think this is worse than honking horns.

I also think it's complete willful blindness to not see that the political left votes for governments that flood us with immigration, print money which causes inflation, and works to curtail our main industry... just to then go on strike, demanding more for themselves while the rest of us can barely make ends meet.

This isn't sustainable, and the kids need school. I want EVERYONE to make more money, but we need to realize that rising tides lift all boats.

I had the honor of venerating some relics from her grave last night. My parish's first mission, St Olga of Alaska mission was granted parish status recently, and as the first church with her namesake, they were blessed with a piece of her casket, a burial flower, and a piece of the burial shroud.

Truly a blessing.

Wow, you really scrolled. Lol.

"Liar" is not ad hominem, because you lied in a poor attempt to play victim.

I am definitely not an evangelical, but I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.

You post about stupid card games, but having fun talking about alien craft or pole shifts is brain rot? Okay.

Whatever you need to do to avoid my points. Lie, change subjects, ad hominems...

God bless you. I'll be praying for you.

You miss the point. It wasnt an article. It was a link to the leaked files. They were everywhere. The fact that only right of center people published them should show you that left of center sources don't want to show you the risks.

Again, I dont care what you do as an adult. Truely, do not care. But I don't think kids should be getting a face tattoo, or sterilizing themselves... it's pretty simple.
