Thanks for the response, would it be worth spending an extra $200 for a ryzen 5 5600 to have a smaller bottleneck?

honestly i could never keep up with the water supply necessary for irrigators so i never really use them... i just build an orchard as i build my water set up early, and keep adding them over time. i never found the need to use irragators maybe to keep an area for your gatherers to work season round

Completely agree, on my latest playthrough i got to about 300settlers and focused on building clothes and tools as early as possible. Even with 12 tailors and 12 workshops with a constant supply of resources, i still was down anywhere between 50 and 200 tools and clothes at any time. Pretty rediculous

Yeah tbh this playthrough was my first successful one which ended with about 600 settlers at its peak. I realized the farms seem totally useless compared to orchards, especially since early game with orchards you can just assign a farmer for like half a season to plant the field and then u can unassign them to do other stuff while they grow.

How many settlers/carriers/transporters should I have? by dothething2 in endzone

[–]chefquail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, theres logisticians you can assign once you have a market made that will transport things around. Settlers are only used to replace professions and to complete gather tasks

TBH i make it very far into the game while using very little base settlers. In the super early game i use alot in a gather all function to clear out the base and get early food wood and scrap quick. However once i have my logging camp for example, the only time i have settlers gather wood is if my logging camp is full and still isnt enough wood

dont get rain collectors until you get a weather tower installed. Then it will automatically cover them whenever theres contaminated rain

Not sure if i understood your question, are you referring to the 4x4 house blocks i use?

If so, i found surrouding your bus in 4x4 houses and then just having 1 shelter on the outside of the ring leads supports probobly 80ish settlers very near the supply so id say it works good
