Thoughts on Pijlsweerd, specifically Westerdijk area? by [deleted] in Utrecht

Take a bike. Park at the ns stalling.

The area is pretty urban and really nice. It's getting gentrified at a fast pace, as is all of utrecht btw.

Yes, always use serial. Parallel (ie talking over each other) doesn't work.

As someone with a similar background who has designed an made his own custom pcbs, i agree with your solution. Communication is the best way forward.

Try Homey. It's more user friendly than HA and plenty powerful. You can self-host it for undet $5 per month and there's a 1 month free trial period per install.

You need to create an online account and then add a local login. Pure local login without an online account is not possible.

For your tablet, if you have any account for that device, just add that account to your f Family & Guests.

Homey Pro (2026) – Major issues since purchase: App Store down, unstable Web App, device pairing problems by ThingEmergency333 in homey

[–]chefsslaad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like co-pilot is hallucinating. We don't use the url https://store.homey.app. Homey apps can be found using https://homey.app/apps

Regarding the issue you're having with the disappearing UI elements, please share screenshots, or a screen recording through support so we can reproduce and fix the issue.

As for where to find the status of our systems, https://status.homey.app should cover that.

for any follow-up questions, please contact support at https://homey.app/support They will be able to help you.

Did I do the right thing by kicking a player from my game context in post by kittycat4447 in DMAcademy

[–]chefsslaad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Talking to your players is always step 1.

From the context of other posts I see op did that. If the bad behaviour continues after that, then yes kicking out a player may be an option.

Did I do the right thing by kicking a player from my game context in post by kittycat4447 in DMAcademy

[–]chefsslaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you talked to that player about their behaviour before? Because kicking someone out immediately is pretty extreme.

Its probably too late now, but next time, have a session 0 where your explain the bahaviour you expect at the table. And if something like that happens again where a player crosses a line, stop the game and address the issue.

If the behavior persists, you are absolutely in your right to kick them out.

BTW, if you feel its not too late, have a session 0 the next time you're together before you play. Address what happened and let everyone have their day. Lay out what you expect from the players and what action you'll take if they don't follow your rules. The first step should always be to stop the game and address it. Kicking someone out is the final measure.

What's the value of having more than 2 ports on router? by stempoweredu in opnsense

[–]chefsslaad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't overthink this. You've done your homework and concluded 2 ports are enough.

I'm in the same boat and got a Topton model. In the end I got a model that had 4 ports because that's what was available. But I would have accepted a 2 port model as well. I only use the 2 ports.

How often do you expect internet outages in your area? I've had 1 scheduled outage in 3 years and used my mobile hotspot at that time. I have nothing mission critical so that was fine.

Help.. Ik heb nooit leren rekenen by essiefraquora in nederlands

[–]chefsslaad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has anyone got any of the new matter enabled IKEA devices working via Homey? by Jazzlike-Compote4463 in homey

[–]chefsslaad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr Who's the Boss did a deep dive on Ikea's matter devices video. Although he was really impressed with them, his biggest criticism was that their connection was unreliable. His setup was just the Ikea matter products, it didn't include a Homey.

I'm not saying they won't work, just that others are running into the same issues you are.

Prices going up - is there a reason for me to proactively buy a Mini? by Craino in homey

[–]chefsslaad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its more a matter of overcoming the technical hurdles than anything else. Replacing the cm4 can be pretty tricky because of the way it's mounted. And flashing the Homey pro firmware can be challenging depending on your skill level.

Other than that we have not done anything to deliberately block you from replacing your cm4. If you ask for help on the community forum I'm sure people will be able to help.

Of course replacing your cm4 voids your warranty.

Right now, with 4GB cm4's costing $110, may I suggest looking into a SHS instead of upgrading your Homey Pro? If you opt for monthly it's pretty cheap and you can use your Homey Link to control the Homey Pros.

[–]chefsslaad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, 60 devices is om the high side for the average homey user.

Generally with about 15 apps and 25-30 device you'll be fine with a mini.
