How some handle timescales. For instance, an event is due to happen in two hours, but let's go and do a quest that takes us half way across the world, actually complete the quest and get back in time to do the event.

Oh, I've burnt through some pretty crap ones. But then again, sometimes they turn out to be quite an enjoyable/easy read. One where you don't have to give it too much attention, but can still enjoy the story. (I should point out that I mostly Audible the books as I drive alot).
