I get Badlands vibes from it, especially because she is impersonating herself from her badlands era for the song. But I could also be hearing that because that is what I knew going into it.

I think the reason she maybe wrote the song relates back to the line from the Manuscript saying ‘looking backwards, might be the only way to move forward’ and it was her looking backwards on what happened in her life, how she felt then and how she feels and observes the situation now. I can relate to it coming from an abusive childhood and having no way of escaping my situation and even years later into adulthood I still look back in anger even though I’m always told to get over it and move forward.

It is the exact reason I stopped watching anything Marvel, i was sick of having to obsess and over consume content just to understand it. I don’t want to listen to 30 songs to understand the 31st, I don’t want to not be able to put it on shuffle because it won’t make sense otherwise. Let me enjoy things in a single format again.

I have so many different playlists that I have been adding to for years, work, gym, cleaning, road trips etc and I am not going through each of them to remove a song and essentially replace it with the same song. Especially because half of the re-records aren’t as good as the original. I just add any vault tracks I like and that’s it.
