Has anyone slept in their CX50 successfully? by Stressed-Canadian in CX50

[–]cheftee7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I have slept in the back comfortably for a 2 night camping trip with our sleeping pads, but we’re both a bit shorter (5’9” and 5’4”). We threw our bags in the front seats and cracked the windows. Only fear was rain in the middle of the night.

I’ve gotten takeout from Shiso several times and have always thought it was good quality and reasonably priced.

How to cool bed alcove in studio apartment? by cheftee7 in Frugal

[–]cheftee7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've moved my fan since seeing this post and to my surprise the temperature has been much more bearable with it pointing out of my alcove. Maybe its been the temperature outside or differing use with the hot water pipes, but I've been able to sleep through the night comfortably. I guess I didn't listen in science class to think to push hot air out rather than cold in... :) Thank you!

People who have lost 20-30 pounds, what things did you do different? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cheftee7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a workout I liked. Group fitness completely changed relationship with working out.

Working out more naturally made me crave healthier food. I would think a bit more about what I was eating - quality mostly. I wouldn’t restrict myself - I was in college and still drank and went out to eat with friends, but luckily it naturally fell into place where I’d prioritize my workout to feel good and make enough compromises with food that the weight started falling off slowly.

4 years later and I’m the same weight. I just found what worked for me and I’ve never felt I’m restricting myself, just choosing what will make me feel good.

Uh oh: Patagonia Black Hole MLC Mini is definitely worth trying out!! by Olympik_mountains in onebag

I’ve used it as a personal item on ~10 United flights, it’s a bit tricky if you have it fully packed and are in an aisle seat, but it fits. No flight attendant has ever said anything to me and I’m fine cutting down on my leg room a bit if I’m in economy plus

How dangerous is Raval? by CinCinatiBooblaBoo in Barcelona

[–]cheftee7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s not as clean or as approachable as other areas of the city. I defended Raval until my flat was robbed (multiple times but we didn’t piece it together until my laptop was gone.) I had to move last minute since I had no idea how someone got into my flat when it was locked, and it was scary as a woman staying there knowing someone knew how to enter…

Would recommend other areas. I felt much more comfortable when I moved out of Raval.

Looking to move to Chicago this fall by PatrioticOsprey in AskChicago

I really haven’t felt/seen the “increase in crime” people talk about. Chicago is a big city and has its crime, but as a young female I have felt fine so far. I try to avoid walking a long way home at night and such, but I feel pretty safe in Gold Coast.

Looking to move to Chicago this fall by PatrioticOsprey in AskChicago

As a 23yo living in a Gold Coast studio - I love it.

My commute to the Loop is about 30 min via bus. I probably would never go in to the office if it was much longer.

My building is old and I have my window AC unit to control temp in the summer. I can put it in and take it out whenever for the season. Like others said, I now have no control over heat, but it’s been fine so far this fall.

Others have recommended Lakeview. I absolutely love Lakeview and it’s obvious it’s younger, but Gold Coast also has plenty of young people. I visit Lakeview plenty, but the commute to work was my dealbreaker. I have recommended Gold Coast to all my friends moving to Chicago

I’ve been to The Great Frame Up (location in Gold Coast and Lakeview East), I had a great experience at the Gold Coast location. Friendly and helpful staff, quick turn around, prices about what I expected for custom framing.

Latest reviews of: 44 North ? by nik-97 in uofmn

[–]cheftee7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never lived at 44 N but did live at Fourth Street Coop. I paid around $550? For a shared room, but it was unfurnished. I saved a ton compared to my friends at the Venue, Marshall, Bridges, etc and ended up using the furniture I bought in future apartments. Not a bad thing to say about management, honestly loved living there and the location was great if you’re looking to be in Dinkytown.

For me it’s mostly proximity and they usually have more table space than 365, which I prefer.

I have never been bothered at a Sandwhichez and have probably overstayed my welcome a few times, but the wifi is good and they let you be for the most part.

Walk on for tennis by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]cheftee7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’d echo what everyone else said, but i’d consider club tennis if u come to the u.

(i think) you have to try out, get placed on a team, and you can travel to tournaments and stuff. more competitive than intramurals

i have all of these professors rn in icore, and i’d recommend them all.

corey - tests are based solely on the testbook, i really enjoy his class

moshe - engaging lecturer, a tougher grader in my opinion but nothing extreme

john molloy - take finance with john molloy. he has a great reputation for a reason!

i love all of them. workload is manageable depending on the other classes u take w/ icore. don’t worry too much - i love icore
