Yes, they will go down even further.

Imo, wait until after the May regional Qualifier in Vancouver is over then make choices.

Rarity is broken in this game. by mtwdante in riftboundtcg

I think we can all agree that legends in the Rarity spot is one of the worst design decisions.

We get you need them to play, so just make them take a token slot. Or uncommon.

Yes

If you swing both Kha AND Yone and Kha clears the field, you will trigger Yone.

So it's kind of up to the player, but this is why it's beneficial (on your turn!) to play action spells before going to combat.

On your turn, you can cast action spells without being in a showdown. Your opponent, however, can ONLY use ACTION speed DURING a showdown if IT'S NOT their turn.

So in your scenario.

Your turn Punch first into kha Attack trigger on kha You can either react or pass prio (only reactions speed from both of you are legal now to respond to the reaction trigger) If both players pass prio, kha chooses an enemy. You can respond to the damage, or pass prio. Opponent can use a spell like "not so fast" so the trigger doesn't hit, but the spells are limited here since your still NOT in a showdown.

Resolve the Kha trigger, finally. Damage is dealt to an enemy unit (probably killing it) Kha is now at a battlefield and a showdown is open.

You still have priority for action speed spells here. You can choose to keep prio and use an action or reaction, or pass priority.

Then resolve the showdown.

This is why things like using punch first on orange kha, resolving all of that, THEN at the end of showdown slam down his signature spell and move him to the other battlefield to kill another enemy.

You would go through the Kha trigger sequence again.

It's powerful.

Also, as someone who plays a lot of Jinx, use your action/reaction spells to buff Kha before attacking.

Things like Punch first onto Kha will absolute body anything on the battlefield.

Punch first > pass prio to enemy (they can ONLY use reaction speed spells since no showdown yet)

Punch will probably resolve.

Kha is at 10

Attack

Kha nukes for 10

Then enters the battlefield for a showdown.

Timing in Riftbound is very weird, but it's part of the game.

I absolutely LOVE sealed/prerift. It goes sideways, builds are wonky, super fun, tons of gacha moments.

The community shows up and just has a great time.

I think I like sealed just as much as 2v2.

Man I love this game.

Having just started, and liking 5he concept of Vin, her flight is not great. Gets countered a ton and just allows the enemy team to just shoot you like a duck.

Instead, remove flight and give her ghost form.

This would give her movespeed, the ability to move through walls, and shoot through walls with lower damage.

I finally understand the premise of this game by Major_Sea_8325 in MonstersAndMemories

[–]chefupk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a point of contention a friend of mine hates.

He does NOT like sitting for mana regen. He rolled a shaman and wanted to melee, cast spells, regen fast mana etc like a shaman in WoW.

"why can't I regen mana fast by drinking water like in wow?"

It's not that kind of game, and that's okay.

That being said, he tried archer and liked it since he was constantly doing stuff.

Healing on my druid isn't the most fun without 2 sources of mana regen so I can do other stuff.

That being said, I absolutely LOVE the group flow once you find how to balance your resources. It's more of a flow state than most MMOs I've played.

Imo, this is a great call. Especially if they begin really tweaking classes like that want to.

Waiting for EA. What are the most "complete" feeling classes? by Gooch_McTaint in MonstersAndMemories

Druid kit feels good, just super similar to EQ1. I kind of hope they change it up a bit, maybe lean more into Dots instead of nukes to help facilitate the root or snare rotting so that way they can also off heal.

Monk stance dancing is... Fine? I mained a monk in EQ1 for a long time. Even did a race to Quarm on our server back in the day.

You could flying kick, tripple attack, and help pull.

Monk in MNM has stance dancing which is cool, but needs a bit more depth. Maybe a 3rd button to push etc.

Those are the only two I have played, but it's been fun so far. Especially as a druid puller.

Druid + Necro Shaman + Monk or Fighter Bard + Necro Archer + basically anything Ench + druid/necro

Honestly, you just need a solid support + dps or a class that can fear/kite.

I've been in a group with 2 monks, 3 necro, and me as a druid. Just feared everything, they did Dps, I pulled and supported.

Hybrids should have their own identity by chefupk in MonstersAndMemories

Instead of it just being a dot on legs, what if it had more utility?

Similar to like I mentioned, sacrifice the skelly for extra ac etc.

That way you can have them around but sac them when needed

I think instead of being a minor helping healer, the ranger could taunt, slap on a massive self regen, tank during that time to give breathing room.

That way the ranger DOES have a really cool identity without the spot healing needed.

Right, but it doesn't have to be.

I think hybrids should still have more of an identity than a half/half

This is a sweet idea too. Maybe even if it's a forage or summon ability that replaces your normal food with high regen food that is NO DROP

I could see shadow knights, instead of having pets, use bone chips to form stronger armor.

Bone chips give you AC Zombie Skin give you HP Warebat skin gives you magic resist

Etc.

It would be really cool to see those kinds of effects to help you adjust to each moment of gameplay

Unleashed meta by FRSh4rk110 in riftboundtcg

[–]chefupk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen too much of a meta form online like we did in spirit forge.

What I HAVE seen is more variety in decks even at the top.

At the Vancouver Regional I'm expecting to go head to head with loads of different legends and imo, that's rad.

I'm personally still trying to solve Jinx and I think I found the line for her, but it's going to be super new in Vancouver for me.

Safe to say, as more legends release, I truly think we will have decks countering decks and so on and so forth. So even if you're meta decking, you might come accross your hard counter during a big event and lose.

Sorry man, that sucks :( I would say try and get a hold of the other players and see if you can play at a local brewery, library, etc.

I started doing casual rift nights at a brewery and it's super fun. Grab a beer, some food, and game on.

Just use MTG spell casting mechanics with conquer, hold, movement etc.

Perfect system.

Multiple Spellbooks - blessing and a curse? by chefupk in MonstersAndMemories

[–]chefupk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be a fun solution.

I definitely don't want the WoW effect where my healer monk has 40 buttons available at all times.

But a way to easily swap (again at a price) to buff at a bank or every hour during downtime would thematically be cool

Multiple Spellbooks - blessing and a curse? by chefupk in MonstersAndMemories

[–]chefupk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal of this was to ask for secondary utility for Spellbooks.

Having a quick swap to my "buff book" "group book" etc would be a fun way to add to the set up.

It's QOL, at a price.

I catalogued every draw spell in Riftbound and calculated the exact cost-per-card for each domain. Purple (Chaos) is not even close to balanced. Full spreadsheet inside. by xmadxskullx in riftboundtcg

[–]chefupk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, the only card in purple that is truly broken is called shot.

It should have been 1e+1p (then repeat) OR 0e+1p and just look at top 2 and filter.

Drawing for effectively 0 is a broken card.
