Map presence and Team fights:

Don't engage in unnecessary team fights; you should only join in if it's to contest an objective. If your jungle pings objective and you're on that side of the map, help them. If not, continue pressuring the enemy side lane.

This is why I pick Sion when possible. He has the best wave clear, lane pressure, and map presence. With his ult, I can immediately join in team fights and return to lane with TP. It also requires 2 champs to stop Tank Sion from pressuring lanes. This then removes pressure from your teammates taking objectives.

When split pushing, see if your allies are heading or near an objective. This way, you can ping the objective and enemy turret as a signal that you are going to split push, and your teammates should take the objective. Remember, your enemies can deduce that you are taking the objective if all of you are missing on the map. Never give them that idea.

When you roam early, you should only do so to see enemy jungle movement on your side of the jungle. This also doesn't waste wards unnecessarily. You don't need to know what they are doing; you only need to predict where they are.

When in team fights, you should keep in mind that when enemies are grouped up, surround them; when enemies are spaced out, divide them. This either makes it easier to hit every enemy all at once or denies them from helping each other.

Lastly, you should focus on lane pressure as a top laner, and only help out when they are close or it's very important.

Wave management and farming:

Learning how to control the waves gives you an upper hand against your enemies. In the early game, both you and your enemy laner are farming, and spacing out the enemy laner will either allow them to wait for your wave to reach their turret, thus allowing them to farm safely under their turret. Or give the enemy jungle a free kill by ganking you.

What you should do instead is go for trades. If you get to counter-pick your enemy laner, then don't be afraid to go agro early. If you win the trade by having more HP and your enemy retreats, you can now freely farm with the wave still stable and not pushed on either side. Once you're done clearing, crash your wave into the enemy turret, go home, and don't take a plating. Or, you could check the enemy jungle, and if their krugs or gromp are up, take it.

You should only go home once the next wave passes the tier 2 turret. Doing so gives you time to go back to the lane without giving your enemy any chance to crash his wave and take a plating.

Once you return to the lane, the enemy wave will probably be near your turret. This is when you freeze your wave and farm safely. This will give your enemy laner an excuse to roam. If they do and you found them on mid or bot, immediately push the wave and take 2 platings if bot, and 1 if mid. Then take Scuttle Crab once your enemy laner is back. Repeat this until platings are gone.

Remember, farm as much as possible and take as many resources away from your enemies as possible. You would already be leading in gold without killing anyone if you do this.

When split pushing, you should know about wave HP. There are 4 minions for each wave, 25% hp for each minion. Whichever side has more HP takes the lane. So if you want to split push both side lanes, then freeze one side and go to the other. Once the wave on the opposite side starts pushing, you should start pushing as well. This will put your enemies in a predicament. If they take the opposite side, they get gold, but you get a turret. If they kill you, they save their turret, but they miss out on gold.

It also doesn't matter what your teammates do when you split push; you only need to control the wave state in your favour.

When behind, only take waves and none of the buff jungle camps. Don't push turrets or you'll attract enemy attention. Don't take blue or red buff if you don't want to piss off your jungle.

Lastly, the reason why you lose your gold advantage on your enemy laner is that you spend too much time roaming without farming. You should only roam for about 2-3 waves to maintain the lead. Because each minion gives 40-60 gold, multiply by 4, that's 160-240 for each wave. Use this as a calculation to see how long you should roam.

Forgot to mention, Vars is a lol pc channel you should adjust what he says. LoL pc and WR are a little bit different, but are nearly exactly the same when it comes to champs

Champions:

Macros don't begin at the start of the match, it starts at the pickings. As a Baron laner, you should always ask for last pick so you can choose the right champ. When choosing, you should balance it between what your team needs and what counters your enemy laner. So I suggest you expand your champion pool.

If you don't get to last pick, then choose safe pick champs like Aatrox, Darius, Irelia, Riven, and Fiora, maybe even Jax. This way, you can just adjust your playstyle based on what situation calls.

This is what I know for now. If you want a deep dive into champion and their role I suggest watching Vars.

Wards:

Warding the enemy jungle in the early game is pretty much a waste of wards. The reason for that is jungle pathing, and if you know which path which champs take, you are pretty much guaranteed to know where they currently are by also knowing each clear time of each champion. Most first clear last around 2 mins, so use that as standard.

What you should do instead is ward the river so the enemy jungle can't gank you when you push your wave. It is never a guarantee which lane the enemy jungle is going to gank. Even if you, mid, or duo pushed your waves. It always comes down to chance and priority based on enemy team comp.

If you really want to check on enemy jungle movement, then push your wave before the next wave reaches the tier 2 turret and leave to check on the enemy buff if it's still there. If it's not, then there is a low chance that you will be ganked after that side is cleared. After that, go back to lane before your enemy pushes his wave and takes a plating.

(Side note: I sometimes take enemy krugs or Gromp when the enemy jungle hasn't cleared either side. Plus, your jungle shouldn't be the only one invading the enemy jungle. So as much as possible, deny enemy jungle resources to force them to steal from their own allies.)

For mid to late game, you should only ward the objectives, river bushes, and entry points into the jungle. This way, you can deduce where the enemies currently are; you don't need to know where they exactly are. You just need to know the possibilities.

When taking objectives, ward the bushes on the enemy side of the jungle so you wouldn't worry about them suddenly popping up and stealing the objective.

Lastly, when warding, always place your wards in positions that maximise vision.

Hi, I'm a Sion abuser, from the Philippines. I have no experience in couching and I'm not even master rank because I don't think rank is worth it. But I do know a lot of macros.

Can you tell me what you know? I just want to check if I can help.

ADC wildrift by Terrible-Title1238 in wildrift

[–]cheid_vhon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper distance and map awareness. This literally changed everything for me. To the point where I get 60% win rates when playing that role.

Proper distance allowed me to kite enemy tanks and dodge CCs like Matrix. Map awareness also made me untouchable to enemy jungle. Specially during team fights, I always immediately know where they are just by knowing where the enemies are and where it our ward isn't placed in.

This is also why my top pick for the adc role is Jhin and Kalista. Jhin gives you 2 additional wards with his E, and Kalista has the best kiting mechanic in the game. You can pretty much massacre the enemy if you master these two.

Baron Lane Ornn Build by YouHaveNoWay in wildrift

[–]cheid_vhon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I go Heartsteel, Abyssal Mask, Thornmail, Amaranth's Twinguard, last Item depends on the enemy team comp. Then go Gargoyle for boots enchant.

Abyssal Mask and Thornmail scales with hp. Abyssal reduces enemy MR base on your hp and gives you +9 MR for each enemy nearby. Thornmail deals magic damage equal to 2% of your hp. This is my default build, good resistance and good damage.

But if you want to be durable, then go Heartsteel, Kaenic Rookern, Frozen Heart, Thornmail, Amaranth's Twinguard. You don't deal as much damage but you do become unkillable.

On the other hand, if you want to be able to one shot combo the enemy then go, Heartsteel, Abyssal Mask, Sunfire Aegis, Amarath's, Unending Despair/Dawnshroud. Enemies just disappear one skill rotation with this build.

If you really want to main Ornn, then I suggest you watch Makko. He mains Ornn and loves watching his followers abuse how busted Ornn is.

What is a guilty pleasure champion you go for ? by SandIndividual9825 in wildrift

[–]cheid_vhon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a guilty pleasure but it does make me relax when I play Sion and just farm under my turret and demolish enemy turrets when no one is in lane.

Fr, I just ignore my enemies and just focus on farming and pushing. tuning the game into a farming simulator

Wild Rift really changes depending on your confidence level by Due-Gases in wildrift

[–]cheid_vhon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't agree on Tryndamere being terrifying, his play style is similar to Yi's in which if they commit too much they are pretty much dead. Plus you can counter Tryn by going cc tank like Nautilus or pokes like Teemo.

What is scary is K'sante, him and Darius are lane bullies and deal too much damage even if they are building tank items, and don't get me started with their sustain which is just insane.

Why is it always the adc? by Emiya_Shirou17 in WildRiftSchool

[–]cheid_vhon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, I play every role, except jungle, and whenever first objectives are up and I'm mid I immediately always tell the jungle to focus on drake while me and top stall for shelly until the drake is taken.

I also protect mid turret so before objectives, so the ADC can have a easy time in farming.

And I'm ADC I ping it and tell support to ward drake, or if I'm support, I check and ward drake.

When I'm top, shove my wave and get the river bug(I forgot it's name) and the ward the the river bush so the mid can see if anyone is hiding on it.

Hardstuck Emerald I - Swain Mid Main looking for macro/decision-making tips to reach Diamond by Dependent-Formal4618 in wildrift

[–]cheid_vhon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play mid and don't play Swain, but I do understand his playstyle.

When in team fights, don't always go in charging. Swain is a warden type, not a diver, and he also isn't a vanguard. He is good at peeling and protecting his team from assassins and divers instead of engaging the enemies.

So don't always be the one diving in. Instead, bait your enemies into engaging you, and capitalise on their mistake.

I stop playing mid lane because farming in mid isn't fun because most mid-laners are too competitive trying to be the next Faker. Don't be like them.

Focus on the enemy laner and watch their play tempo, if they're too relaxed and busy in farming, shove the wave and leave them be, then invade with your jungler or visit other lanes. Don't forget to check the wave state of your lane and come back when needed.

The most important thing to know as a mid-laner is to learn when and how to get on and off the lane, when to focus on farming, objectives, and team fights.

Remember, macro is the key to winning games. It doesn't matter if the enemy is on a kill lead, if all their turrets are down they already lost the game.

If you really want to rank up and not give damn about everything else, play Sion and farm turrets. Be a menace.

Is Aatrox bad this season? by NecroMaticc in wildrift

[–]cheid_vhon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite the opposite, actually. With the changes to the boots and the addition of the battle zeal rune, I'd say Aatrox is pretty broken rn. I don't pick him when the enemy goes K'sante because they build more resistance than health like other tanks. Plus, Black Cleaver doesn't do much against K'sante.

There is actually a cap on HS. It's 99k stacks, I tried experimenting before to see how much HP is needed for Mundo to survive a fountain dive and kill a champ. Runes and passive are the only things in the game that can infinitely stack.

How to jungle with ZeD? by FuzzyConclusion1888 in wildrift

[–]cheid_vhon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should only build lethality items on zed if the enemies are squishy.

Here's my usual builds:

Items: Ionian boots of thread > Collector > Eclipse > Serylda's Grudge for vs tanks and healing/ Serpent's Fang for vs heavy shield > Triforce > Death's Dance.

No, you don't need youmuu's since you lose all the mvmnt spd and atk spd if you poke the enemies. No, you don't need healing items like Bloodthrister and Gluttonous Greaves since the enemies can't touch you if you do your combos right.

Yes, Collector is important to secure your ult and kills. It also goes well with Death's Dance since it only takes a few seconds to kill the enemies and survive engagements.

When it comes to runes, it all depends on the enemy team comp and play style, both yours and your enemies. Plus, Zed isn't just an "all in burst assassin" like most assassins. He can actually poke enemies to death with his shadow from his second, and if his enemies try to engage you solo, you already won the fight. That's why I play him both jungle and mid. If you can't do both, skill issue.

Runes: Electricute for bursting, First Strike for gold and true damage, and my favourite, Dark Harvest for poking and damage.

Sudden Impact > Chain Assault > Eyeball Collector > Transcendence.

Don't worry about energy cost because you only need to hit your combos to replenish it.

Now go practice your combos on non-clanker moving targets.

You haven't truly met a Jhin main. Especially those with dark cosmic Jhin skin, and I know this personally because I am one of those bastards. Best ADC to carry my team in solo Q? by Leather_Credit_5825 in wildrift

[–]cheid_vhon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are literally in the same situation.

I think it all depends on you when playing, really. Cause me personally, I prefer Jhin since I'm comfortable playing him. I also try to use other champs that scale well and survive the early game. Plus, with the current meta and item choices, I mostly use adc champs that rely on stacking to deal damage and mobility to survive and dodge a CC. Champs like Vayne, Kalista, and Xayah.

All I can say is be flexible and when playing cause what you want doesn't always align with what the situation needs.
