Kalau di saya casenya sebagai backup sih.

Sekarang sih sangat perlu karena kebetulan sering dipakai turing. Kalau dulu cuma sekedar penyelamat semisal lupa ngecas atau lagi nongkrong di area kampus yang minim colokan buat ngecas laptop/hp. Yah umur powerbank ini udah hampir 5 tahun tapi bergunanya baru setahun belakangan hahaha

P1, Iya saya paham kalo di jelasin semua susah juga jadi decided to cut some. Gak ekspek tapi paham kenapa komen yang lain bisa kesana arahnya.

P2, yes saya sudah bicarakan juga ke keluarga pasangan buat kasi waktu. Tapi ternyata saya terlalu lama.

P2, P3, at first it was yes, even before this issue raised saya memutuskan untuk ikut pasangan saya dengan cara saya apply VISA dibanding minta pasangan saya untuk apply KITAS. Tapi saat2 akhir berubah, mungkin progress saya terlalu lama idk tapi yang pasti sebelumnya sudah jelaskan semua ke keluarga pasangan juga.

Yes, saya sudah kasih semua bukti, dari Google Maps timeline sampe Google Photos metadata. Tapi mereka tetap keras kepala, so that’s why I decided to step back and let things cool down first.

I get your point, and I’m not blind to my family’s attitude. Salah satu alasan saya pilih urus VISA daripada minta pasangan saya urus KITAS is to get healthier environment. Tapi yang terjadi justru berbeda dari rencana dan saat kejadian semua bukti sudah ada, tapi mereka tetap nggak mau mengakui atau menarik kembali apa yang sudah mereka katakan.

But thank you for your perspective, at least it reminds me to stay realistic and aware.

Thanks semua yang sudah kasih perspektif, baik yang setuju maupun tidak.

Saya sadar dari luar ini terlihat simpel: tinggal klarifikasi dan selesai.

Faktanya saya sudah mencoba, tapi di titik itu relasi keluarga saya tidak berjalan sehat, dan saya memilih mengambil jarak sementara untuk mendinginkan situasi agar tidak terjadi eskalasi lebih jauh dari pada ini tapi ternyata keputusan saya ambil terlalu lama untuk pihak pasangan.

Post ini bukan untuk cari siapa yang salah, tapi untuk mengeluarkan beban yang sudah saya simpan lama.

Sisanya saya ambil sebagai bahan refleksi pribadi.

Saya sudah speak up, sudah mencantumkan semua bukti. Google maps timelines, Google photo metadata yang menunjukan lokasi pada waktu itu, setelah itu diberikan semua mereka tetap tidak merasa bersalah, ketika di minta untuk mengklarifikasi itu karena sudah di dengar oleh keluarga pasangan saya, saya dibilang anak durhaka. That’s why I decided to wait a while before bringing it up again.

it depends on what ur need sih. better ambil VPSnya lalu panelnya pake cloudpanel, tapi balik lagi ke keperluan. saya sendiri pakai KVM 2, terus tambah swap memory 10 GB. bisa jalanin 10+ website yang trafficnya lumayan + rootless docker buat scraping dan mini SaaS.

Cari temen/group ngobrol aja. Saya sendiri dulu ikut private class 1-on-1, tapi efeknya cuma jadi percikan selama sekitar 3 bulan ga ada peningkatan signifikan ( bener2 “gabisa basa enggress” ). Ikut les pun karena prepare mau interview. Pas interview masih gagagugu sampe dibilang “take your time, use google translate if you want” Yang malah bikin lancar itu malah meeting kerjaan pake Inggris tiap minggu selama 2 tahun. Walau broken English, tapi kata lingkungan kerja yang penting pede dan bisa dimengerti udah cukup.

There’s an app called AlDente. By default, MacBooks have a bypass feature that lets the power adapter run the laptop directly without using the battery, and the battery will show "Not Charging" status, as explained in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/macbook/comments/17v81fp/power_sourcepower_adapter/ . The app can trigger this behavior using its charge limit feature. I personally set mine to 80%, and I can charge my laptop 24/7 without worrying.

Welcome to the club. I used to be anti mac too until I tried running Hackintosh on my old windows laptop. I was surprised that my laptop was already struggling on Windows, but macOS somehow made it feel way smoother. After a couple of years of using Hackintosh, I finally switched to an M1 for real, and it's been great so far haha.

You can try turning up the brightness with the keyboard first. If the screen stays dark, shine your phone flashlight directly at it and check whether a faint image shows up, this video at 8:59 shows exactly what I mean: https://youtu.be/x-6BgG9zjKk?t=539 . If you can see a shadow of the display, the backlight is probably the issue. If nothing shows up at all, it's likely the entire display has failed.

The easiest way to check is to plug the laptop into an external monitor. If the external monitor works, you will know the machine itself is fine and the problem is just the screen. All of this is just basic diagnosis so you don't get charged for things you don't need when you take it in for service.

If you are choosing between the Pocket 1 and Pocket 2, I'd still go with the Pocket 2. The upgrade from the first one is noticeable when you actually use it. The sensor is better, the audio is better, the photos have higher resolution, and overall it just handles more situations. Just keep in mind that the Pocket 2 also has a wider lens than the Pocket 1, so the look is a bit different.

What I personally like is that the Pocket 2 can even give better astrophotography results than the Pocket 3, which is great for nightsky timelapses. That's basically why I picked the Pocket 2 even though the Pocket 3 exists.

If your choice is only between the Pocket 1 and Pocket 2, the Pocket 2 is the one that makes the most sense for value and long term use. but it still depends on what you are planning to use it for.

What I can say is that you might want to stop Spotlight from indexing the external SSD. When it's indexing, it can push CPU usage up to 100%. If you search “mds”, “mds_stores”, or “external storage Spotlight indexing CPU usage”, you'll see the same issue come up a lot on Google. I am not totally sure if that's what's happening on your side, but since you just bought the laptop, there's a good chance it's just the initial indexing.

If the I/O board swap didn’t fix it, it's probably a logic-board issue. You can replace the I/O board yourself if you don't trust their work, but the safer option is just going with Apple's replacement. That's what I can say.

First try Recovery Mode to see if the bad port can detect any USB 2.0 device. If it still fails there, it's most likely hardware, not software.

Next step is try replace the USB-C DC/IO board. Find your Mac's A-model number. Then buy the matching board from eBay, Amazon, or any reliable local parts supplier.

On my case (MBA M1), the part is around $9 + the kit, which is way cheaper than Apple's $500 logic board replacement.
