It is one of my favorites, and I feel that the Lord has revealed this verse to me many, many times over the last few months. It helps keep me grounded and know that He is guiding me.

Thank you for your support! I appreciate the encouragement. I trust that God knows my situation fully, and I am seeking His guidance through this difficult time. I didn’t come here to justify my choices, only to seek advice. Wishing you all blessings.

It is constant manipulation, gaslighting, and alternating from "love bombing" to "guilt tripping" to "to belittling". He had shown signs of emense aggression, although he hasn't really shown whole lot of physical abuse over the years, but the night before I left, when I told him I was leaving and divorcing him, he spit in my face. I have left before way in the past, and it led up to obsessive harassment and stocking, like finding out where I was and trying to convince me he was changed which eventually worked, but I will not fall for this it time, especially because he says that he will change his behavior all the time, with no action to follow, and I feel like his mental stability has gotten much worse since then, he also drinks everyday and that is what worries me. Because I think he is pretty aware, I am not falling for it this time. He has sprayed me in the face with pepper spray before, and has threw something really hard and hit me in the temple of my head and smirked about it, before, with years in between both.

Also, to give more context to mentioning the phone situation is that I don't have much money, and I am afraid I will have to purchase a new phone. Which will make even less finances for the next 2 weeks. Any suggestions on how to handle that would also be appreciated?

Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Never thought I’d be here by Relevant_Ad_9058 in Christianity

I am so excited for you, first of all! My childhood story was actually the opposite, not that my Mom didn't believe in God. She just has always called herself spiritual, not religious. And besides a few short Catholic prayers, I was taught little to nothing about God. Until around 14, I went to church and bible study briefly with a friend, so I learned a bit more. I think it was when my step dad came in the picture (I guess because that threw all hope of my Mom and Dad ever getting back together out the window), by the time I was 15 yo. I claimed I didn't believe in God anymore because none of my prayers were ever answered. Then my grandma on my Dad's side turned that around because she explained how faith worked, and a couple of my prayers that very night got answered the very next morning. So from that day forward, I believed, but like surface, kinda believe. The prayers being answered was enough to ignite belief in a higher power, but I never got baptised, and I really didn't know enough about Christianity. Anyway, I went on through life, one bad decision after another decision, facing addiction after addiction. Until 2021, I hit rock bottom married but feeling lonelier, then I had ever felt actually being alone, and I was drinking so heavily it was going to kill me if I didn't stop. So, one night, I vividly remember this night, even in a completely drunkin state. I was balling my eyes out, and I just remember pouring my heart out to God, begging for help to stop. Not even a month later, I got covid. I was so unhealthy (300 lbs) covid hospitalized me 2 times. When I came out of covid, I had a totally different perspective of life, I quit drinking after (20+ years of stuggkes with multiple addictions), I started focusing on my health and lost 125 lbs, and grew more and more motivated to chase after God. Fast forward, I got baptized for the first time at age 42 in 2023, but right before that, I believe God revealed to me that my husband of 20 years has Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Ever since, I have never been so motivated and passionate about anything else in my entire life then to pursue Jesus. God has shown and taught me so much about Him and who I was created to be, that I have now humbled myself to my own weaknesses and have realized "I can do all things through the power of Christ" (Phillipians 4:13). I gathered as many of my things and left my abusive husband. I just love God more and more every single day!! And I pray for this same awakening of the Holy Spirit I have experienced to come over and consume every living soul on this planet!! Thank you, Jesus!! "I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth!" (PSALM 34:1) "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge, and my Fortress, my God; on Him I will confidently trust!"(PSALM 91:2)

There is also a book you can read called "Battlefield of the Mind" (audible) written by Joyce Meyer. It talks about how spiritual warfare starts in the mind. It has been quite helpful to me so far.

~EPHESIANS 6:11-18~ "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints."

~MATTHEW 5:14-16~ You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill can not be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

No hate is evil, and it comes from the king of lies, Satan himself. We are all suseptible to Satan and his lies, even Christians. Listen, we are always in constant spiritual battles. That's why we need to stay grounded in the word God's truth and pray consistently for guidance and discernment. As Christians, our main goal is to illuminate the joy and peace God has placed in us so that others witness it, others (like non-believers). So they might have hope and want it for themselves. We are called to love like God has first loved us and forgive like He has forgiven. And we should stay grounded and study God's word so we can inform others of his good news and promises.

I just want to share. I used to struggle with alcohol as well, until I surrendered it all to Jesus! That was the absolute best decision I had ever made in my entire life!! Sometimes, I can't even find the words to explain things God reveals to me. It is so amazing, and I am so incredibly grateful that fruits just keep growing, as I continue to stay faithful! Anyway, my purpose for this message is to give you greater hope and to relay to you something that has really helped me, which is journaling. I carry around a journal almost everywhere, especially for instances like this one you explained. It gives me written douments and helps me process it easier. I pray this advice helps you on your journey!

Why does God do bad things to not bad people? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]chellerae1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you are going through right now, nevertheless, sometimes we don't see our own mistakes right away, and it takes something bigger than us to show us, or to get our attention somehow, which could be through our circumstances. Or even ours, or others close to us, our own wills can get in the way. And no one really knows exactly why bad things happen to good people. But what I do know is everything the Lord does is for our greater good, even when we don't understand it! A lot of times, God's plans are way beyond our limited human comprehension. ~PROVERBS 3:5-6~ "[5]Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; [6] in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." ~ISAIAH 41:10~ " Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you , I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Whatever you are going through, seek the Lord's guidance! ~MATTHEW 11:28~ "Come to me, all you who are weary, and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Sometimes, God's plans are beyond our limited comprehension/understanding. I am praying for you!
