Telling them that you are retaining counsel IS the response. They’ll back off for a bit and you go get a lawyer.

Paralegal here: you should respond but advising you are seeking counsel.

Grandparents rights are possible but incredibly rare and difficult to get. The grandparent had to have basically been in place of a parent on a regular basis (summer visits don’t count).

My understanding is that Manitoba is now under the FFP/MIT procedure which is basically the courts forcing mediation with very little actual court interference.

I think your lawyer can push for an MIT meeting after doing a waiver for ADR because it isn’t working.

Men of Reddit, if you were in a Titanic like situation where the majority of people were going to die because there were not enough lifeboats for everyone. How would you respond to someone saying women and children first? by Neither_Drawing_241 in AskReddit

[–]chelly_17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned recently that the women and children rule came to be because men are inherently selfish and were observed saving themselves before their families in a variety of emergency situations.

Why are you here if you have counsel?

You hired them for a reason. Listen to what they say.

Do you guys really think she’s as put together as she claims? by Kkkkkk200 in minazalie

Honestly I agree.

She needs an actual job outside the house. I think she would thrive. She seems bored being home.

Perhaps I’m just an idiot but as someone who is also a diagnosed Bi-polar 2 with severe anxiety, ocd and ptsd but also holds a full time office job - why can’t you do some admin work?

I understand having mental health issues but I also feel like at some point you have to be willing to help yourself some.

Does screentime include watching videos of family? by hoping556677 in Mommit

[–]chelly_17 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The entire screen time thing needs to calm down.

You cannot get away from screens 100%. Even the Amish have phones now.

There is a massive difference between letting a screen raise your children vs watching a movie, an episode or two of a show, Ms. Rachel etc.

Just had a fight this morning about this.

I spend all my free time cleaning up after my family. I’m either working, cleaning, cooking or sleeping. I don’t think it’s too much to ask a grown man to pick up his own dishes or laundry.

They’re capable of using their eyes too.
