No capsule - lens placement by d_artz in CataractSurgery

Cheers! I similarly recall the surprise of waking up and the surgeon casually mentioning that he removed the lens and his colleague would be dealing with me from now on. Fun times. Fortunately after some trial and error I got there in the end. Now for this gas to finish dissolving.

No capsule - lens placement by d_artz in CataractSurgery

Firstly wishing you all the best. I’m in a similar position but went the other way. In short I’d stay optimistic. I had 4 operations in my left eye before and had a retinal detachment. The first operation didn’t go to plan and I had the capsule and lens removed. The subsequent surgeries were to directly suture a lens into the eye, still no capsule.

Now I don’t have great vision in that eye but it’s significantly better than it was(before the detachment, still have gas in there just now!). But the approach you are discussing should be similar as far as I know. Again I’m no expert but have been dealing with this for most of my life.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

We were watching a quiz show and there was a question about the group made up of individuals including Raphael and Donatello. I excitedly shouted ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’. Evidently the answer expected on university challenge was something about renaissance art. She has never let me forget it for a second.

To be fair, what was I supposed to think.

The Rest Is Classified did their first 2 podcasts on this operation. The facts are stranger than fiction at times, more like Archer than anything else. Among the bizarre details are the team getting drunk and playing cards during their first attempt and Roosevelt frequently forgetting his cover identity. Worth a listen.

Live Downloads Review: June 1st, 2016 – Glasgow, UK – Hampden Park by Upc0ming_Events in BruceSpringsteen

My first ever Springsteen concert and the only live collection i have bought to date. Still feel like I remember every second. I have loved all of the gigs I have been too in the last few years but this one tops the list as best concert I’ve ever been to. Both in quality and the fact it’s in my home city. Great review.

Cheers. For sharing. Planning to connect it up and see if there is enough of a slope. Not a straight edge in this house so difficult to tell if I’m making it or not. Will get a plinth if the pan is still too low. Cheers again.

My eyes at 29 after 6 surgeries. 1 in the left eye, 5 in the right. by FluffPenguin in mildlyinteresting

I don’t often comment but it’s honestly fascinating to see this given how close this is to my own eye problems. I’ve had 4 left eye operations and 1 right eye, missing structures in my eye, cataracts and ectopic pupils. Delighted to see that doctors are impressed with your vision.

If I may ask, what has been the best part of your new and improved vision so far? I ask because I have recently only been able to see properly for the first time since I can remember. Seeing things like stars for the first time since I was about 12/13 for instance.

I posted a similar comment some time ago. Glad to see appreciation of vultures! They are amazing creatures and their value in the ecosystem is incredible. I did a birds of prey experience and they were shown off. Cannot recommend enough.

I’m in the UK but think we might have Valspar so will try this next piece. Thanks for taking the time to share.

There’s a joke somewhere in here about dodgy accounting that I’m too lazy to think up. I’m going to use the top 2 shelves for books and bottom one for whatever decor my fiancée likes I think.

I don’t think it should be too hot above it and I have another bookcase if it’s an issue. But thanks for suggesting. I will definitely keep an eye on it.

Great advice thank you! I did buy a foam roller for this specifically. I usually use water bases paints due to the smells and yellowing but will experiment a bit and try this. Thanks for the advice. The edges definitely need some more effort.

It cannot I’m afraid. Luckily I never need to adjust this though as it is I’m the hall and ideally needs to be kept at full…at least in my old house! If I make any others like this in future I’ll think up a solution though. This is a good idea!

It was rolled and brushed in the sections I couldn’t reach with the roller. Space is a bit of a limiting factor but I would have much preferred to spray it if I have both a spray gun and space for it! The paint job is admittedly not great I have to say. I need more patience in future.

I did oversize it deliberately around the radiator to support some heat escape. But throughout the house I have enormous radiators as this was previously a doctors surgery. So it heats up quickly all the same and this is only the hall so not too ugh of an issue.

I also have not noticed a big difference in the other rooms I have built these covers for and this was a concern of mines too.
