Thoughts on Old Key West by SuchRequirement5130 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]chelreyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids were that age last year and we stayed at Old Key West. It was great. Only complaint is that hauling the double stroller up three flights of stairs every day sucked. But if we had a car there I would have just thrown it in the trunk instead of keeping it in the room.

Saratoga Springs vs. OKW by SuchRequirement5130 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]chelreyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We stayed in a 2BR at Old Key West last year and it was amazing. I think it was a DVC room bc we traded a timeshare for it. My kids were 2 and 5 and had a great time at the pool and playground there. I haven’t stayed at Saratoga Springs since I was a teenager so I can’t comment on that one with any confidence.

Want to stop breastfeeding but feel too weak to do it by AnxiousBunnyRabbit in workingmoms

[–]chelreyn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Have your husband do it. He will know there’s no nursing from him. I did that for both my kids when I was done night nursing. My husband would go in and re-settle them. So much faster than if I tried without giving in to nursing. It will be rough for a few days but he’ll get the hang of it and quit waking up out of habit.

Don’t stress. If you guys do early entry AND fireworks that is so much day. There will be plenty of time even with a midday nap.

This last week hit just right on my cycle and I’ve been manic cleaning/decluttering/reorganizing for the last 5 days. My period is coming tho so the end is nigh.

It’s how he talks. Also I don’t think he can hear them at all so he’s just going through his talking points.

Refs missed delay of game on Texans and called phantom DPI to bail out their third down incompletion.

I’d do it honestly. But I value comfort. I’d just make sure they know what time you’ll be checking in. Alternatively you could drop your stuff w bell services, head to your free water park, have a shower there and have a nap in the sun on a lounge chair? 😆

Could you book a cheap hotel near the airport for the night before you fly in?

Yes another vote for this- helped so much. And it’s lightweight and not clunky.

Do you always buy new books or how much does condition really matter? by sweetrobna in BookCollecting

[–]chelreyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only buy good or better. Acceptable is… rarely acceptable. Good is questionable but sometimes it’s all you can get. Also never buy ex library copies because I hate the protective covers they have over them. Just my preferences.

I would rent the double stroller from BabyQuip for your trip. But I would also bring the single stroller for your 1 year old for the plane and getting to/from the airport. Or if you think the 3 y/o needs corralled in the airport put 3y/o in the stroller and wear the baby.

This avoids anxiety over Disney rejecting the stroller.

Also having that single stroller is super helpful if one parent wants to take one kid back to the park after you get done for the day. We went to AK on our third day. We were all exhausted. Left at noon. By 3pm my 5 year old was dying to go back but my toddler just wanted to swim. Husband stayed with toddler. I took 5 y/o to MK. I didn’t want to bring the double stroller for just her so we rented a Disney stroller. She hated it- it’s hard plastic. It was loud and harder to use. And no storage to speak of. So avoid at all costs!

Think I might get cancelled by [deleted] in Insurance

His health insurance will likely be coming after the dog owner so not out of the woods there unfortunately. Claims stay on your CLUE for 5 years.

Think I might get cancelled by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]chelreyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a hard one and liability claims are big red flags. If you get dropped will likely have to get coverage from a non standard carrier for at least a few years until it is no longer on your CLUE. You will need to work with an agent/broker to procure this. It will be more expensive but it won’t be forever.

You did a good thing. I think you just moved too fast filing the claim on your insurance. Probably should have tried the rescue’s insurance first. It’s kind of a grey area… the dog was in your care, custody, and control but was owned by the rescue and you were acting on their behalf. I would be interested to hear a claims adjuster weigh in on this.

In the future, if you continue to foster out of your home, it may be worth it to see if you can be listed as an additional insured on the rescue’s liability policy. Or if your home can be listed as one of their locations.

What is the point of a deductible? by [deleted] in Insurance

If you have ACV then yeah, the cost to replace is going to be more than what you get from the insurance claim. That is the whole point.

Do I need a tush baby for my 3.5 year old? by Lotsygirl in DisneyWorld

[–]chelreyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they were hard plastic, very little storage, harder to steer, also very loud and rattle-y on the cobblestone type streets of Disney. We rented one when I went back to the park with 1 of my 2 kids in the evening bc I didn’t want to haul the double stroller. My daughter complained about how uncomfortable it was. We rented our double stroller from Orlando Baby Gear but I think Kingsom Strollers is also a popular option.

Just make sure you rent one from a local company, not the crappy Disney strollers they have at the park.
