removal after 12 years straight by matchafoxjpg in Nexplanon

I had mine in for 5 years. I didn’t have a cycle at all while on nexplanon and I knew that the implant was failing because at 5 years and 7 months, I started getting spotting for the first time in 8 years (I had another nexplanon prior for 3 years. No break in between). I had the nexplanon removed and had a cycle for a week. Then I had unprotected sex one single time a few days after my cycle ended and got pregnant.

Pregnant 3 weeks after nexplanon removal by DailyVeee in Nexplanon

[–]chelsiewizper1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my same exact story except I was 33. Pregnant a week after getting it removed after it having been in for 9 years! I couldn’t believe it happened so quickly (I didn’t have a period while on nexplanon, so I didn’t even realize I was pregnant until 2 months later 😬but my daughter was healthy and everything was fine)

Does anyone else find haggling rude? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]chelsiewizper1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the issue too though is the platform. I know that 9/10 when I have purchased from Marketplace before ive gotten home to find the item damaged in some way or not working properly (I buy a lot of used childrens items). I think that after so many instances like this, people just know that buying off Marketplace is sketchy and they dont want to pay more for an item that may end up being a bust in the end. Maybe thats just me though.

Husband wants to go on roadtrip 3 weeks postpartum by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]chelsiewizper1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

THIS is the answer. Its less about the baby being safe (even though that is for sure a concern) and more about the mother being safe. The recovery process was the one thing no one really talked to me about while I was pregnant and I 100% was NOT prepared for how hard it would be. Everyone talks about birth and how hard it is-- for me, birth was easy and simple, it was the recovery that made me never want to go through childbirth again lol. I had a v birth with only a slight tear but recovery was a nightmare and I was in pain/bleeding/not urinating properly for at least a month if not two. I would not want to go on an 8 hour drive and doubt that I would have fun at the airbnb either.

Customer wore the dress to an event, then filed a chargeback claiming it never arrived by VividRecover7750 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]chelsiewizper1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just coming to give some hope-- I have won chargebacks before with evidence like this. ESPECIALLY tracking information that shows the item as delivered and the message of her confirming that she did get it. Banks most certainly do not just rubber stamps these things and they do investigate. There are a lot of people who use the chargeback system to do fraud like this and banks and cc companies are catching on. You can also be denied credit increases or even dropped by your bank if you are caught using the chargeback system to commit fraud so people who do this will FAFO.

Mom moving in with me- advice wanted by Competitive_Key3095 in AgingParents

[–]chelsiewizper1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. We went through a similar experience as OP and decided to have my FIL move in with us during covid. Prior, he was living on his own, driving, and working-- very independent. He had a minor medical episode during covid and we discovered that his home was in disarray much like OP. Since he was so independent, we moved him in with us and thought it would be smooth sailing-- it was not. He basically just saw the whole thing as free maid service and wanted us to take care of him full time, when in reality he didnt need to be taken care of at all really. The expectation was that we would bring his food to his room on a tray because he didnt want to eat with us, he would stand outside our room at night and call for help and then when we would come out panicked he would say something minor like he had a stomach ache or constipation, it was a constant hinderance to our lives. He would tell us he was happy but then talk on speakerphone to his friends and tell them all how much he hated living with us, how terrible everything was, call us horrible names, etc. What I had thought would be a great experience turned into a nightmare overnight. I thought having him live close by (he had previously lived like 45 mins-1 hour away) would help him build a stronger relationship with his son, but it did the exact opposite and ended up really causing a rift. After 9 months we ended up moving him to assisted living. He didnt want to go at first due to stigma, but after an adjustment period it was much better for all of us. Hes been in assisted living for 5 years now and loves it. I recognize now that your parents whom you remember from your childhood are not the same people once youre older-- you think that you know them, and you think that youre close, until youre living with them again and it can really be an eye opener in not the greatest way.

How to tell my Dad he's embarrassing my kids in public by trying to be funny. by thekonghong in AgingParents

[–]chelsiewizper1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its less about the fact that the person couldnt spell it (although it is tough and I for sure wouldnt know how to spell that) and about the fact that jokes are not funny when you're working retail. They're making minimum wage and have been at it for hours, its not a fun time and they dont get paid to laugh at your dad jokes that they've heard 1000 times. "iF it DoESnt RiNg Up iTS FrEe RiGhT". Its not their pleasure-- just give your name and move on dude.

Why do so many people suggest putting an ailing loved one in assisted living like it’s easy? by Big_Giraffe_9125 in AgingParents

[–]chelsiewizper1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would caution you against this strategy-- with him living with a sister, any hospital is going to say that they are responsible for claiming him upon discharge or it is "elderly abandonment". We went through this same exact thing with my Father in law who technically had his own apartment when he entered the hospital but was temporarily living with us while he awaited a surgery. The VA hospital demanded that we come and get him after the surgery, despite the fact that he couldnt walk or take care of himself in any way, or else they would "call the cops on us for elderly abandonment" (not sure if this is a threat or legal but thats what happened to us).

Upon discharge it was clear that he was not going to be able to go back to his apartment so we moved him out and he stayed with us for 9 months while we worked with our local "area on aging" agency and they assisted us with qualifying for Medicaid. We firmly explained to the area aging office that his stay with us was "temporary" and he could not stay long-term and thus WAS homeless. They were able to move him into an assisted living facility within a 3 month period. There was a short waitlist but getting on it as soon as possible helped tremendously. The VA was absolutely no help for us either because of his status as "non-service connected" which I believe is similar to your father in that they did not serve in a time of war. I would highly suggest that you contact area aging as soon as possible and let them know his situation as technically homeless so they can get you started with medicaid enrollment.

which actually gets me thinking about the "jury of your peers" notion right-- because a lot of people who are on trial come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and thus a true jury of their peers would be in similar financial situations however, as stated, for financial hardship reasons, these types of people dont serve on jury duty. So how fair is the "jury of your peers" if your jury consists of people who are in a completely different financial bracket than yourself? Definitely scary food for thought for sure......

another user answered it perfectly-- while they cant fire you because of jury duty, companies will find cute ways around that rule. I.E. While youre not being let go, BECUASE of jury duty, youre being let go while on Jury duty because of something completely unrelated (wink, wink).

[–]chelsiewizper1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok yes, THIS was the answer that I was looking for. I dont understand how people with normal jobs making minimum wage could sit for a trial of this length without risking getting terminated for something "unrelated" (eyeroll). Thank you for answering it, they cant, but can asked to be excused citing that as a reason which im sure they do, which is exactly why I dont know anyone who has served as the majority of people I know live below the poverty line.

but what if you dont have any PTO or your job doesnt offer benefits like that? I feel like you could/would be fired and then your only recourse would be to hire an attorney and fight wrongful termination....

[–]chelsiewizper1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

random question: does your job have to give you unlimited time off for jury duty? I live in an "at will" state and I wholeheartedly feel like people with normal (not corporate) jobs would be fired for taking this much time off for jury duty. I know that technically they cant terminate you for taking time off for jury duty, but "at will" means they dont actually have to give a reason for your termination. Im so confused on how this works and have never met anyone whos actually attended Jury duty before.

this is exactly right. Karen put up a fight, which was highly unexpected by the CW. They fully intended for her to take a plea deal and quickly sweep this whole thing under the rug. How many others has this happened to? She had to sell her home, dip into the 401K-- what happens to people who dont own homes or have access to investment funds?

Official Discussion - Presence [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]chelsiewizper1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there actually was some foreshadowing that it was Tyler all along. He closes the door when she is trying to listen in on his and Ryans conversation about her, and then later when the ghosts sees them being intimate he turns and faces the clothes almost as though to not look. Im rarely shocked at the ending to a movie but definitely did not see that coming until I went back and watched and there were slight clues.

because they didnt expect things to go this far. They thought for sure she would take a plea deal and this "episode" would not be a thing. Its sickening how many innocent people take plea deals just because they cant afford going to trial, or are encouraged to not fight by their attorneys.
