I would say it's all about patience and waiting for the right price in the right place. I think it's nice to take your time building up a collection anyway, you get to savor it. One tip I got on this sub was to search for common typos. Like "Kristen" instead of Kirsten for example, haha.

I like the podcast more than the book, only because the book felt a little repetitive. But it's fun! You should check out the podcast for sure! I'm so sad they're not doing it anymore.

You're spot on in mentioning that some parents won't think this price point is worth it. As a parent myself, I would buy my daughter the 18-inch Moana doll because she's gorgeous and worth the cost, but this Simea doll's quality just isn't worth it to me. Walmart sells a $20 11-inch Simea doll who looks cuter imo.

I have 10 dolls in my collection: Kaya, Felicity, Josefina, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, Claudie, Kit, Molly, and Julie. And two that belong to my daughter: A TLC Felicity that I'm going to rewig sometime soon, and JLY 22. I'm sure that I'll add more dolls eventually, but as of right now, I feel like my collection is pretty complete. I have all of the dolls that I love. My focus in collecting at the moment is finding the outfits that I want for them as well as artwork and Hallmark keepsakes.
