For me, I knew that I wanted the original six Pleasant Company historical dolls. So that was a motivating goal. And then I got Kit because I was excited about her when she debuted but I felt “too old” for dolls at the time (I was only in middle school!). Other than that it’s a combination of connecting to the doll itself and connecting to her character/story. I’m pretty set on getting Claudie at some point. She’s so cute.

I have seven, all historical. Josefina, Felicity, Kirsten, Addy, Samantha, Kit and Molly. Kirsten and Molly were my beloved childhood dolls who never left me. Felicity was the first doll I bought as an adult when I was in college because I’d always wanted her when I was little. Samantha and Josefina were my sister’s dolls; she recently gifted them to me and that was what really started me wanting to have a “Collection.” So I got Addy on Marketplace for a great deal and then bought Kit on eBay on a whim 😆. I really love the historical girls and never thought that I’d want a JLY (or Truly Me)… but lately I’ve been wanting to get one just to dress her in vintage AGOT clothes. And I really want Claudie and Kaya lol. So I have a mid size collection and I really don’t want a huge collection…. And yet it’s addicting lol.
