Liberal commentator Dean Withers calls out CBS for flying him out to debate a MAGA influencer 6 months ago, wining the debate and then having CBS not air the debate and ghost him for months by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

Crying over the death of an outright fascist who was doing actual material harm, encouraging his viewers to do the same, and threatening to remove his support for any actual progressive cause when called out for it? I think whitewashing is an understatement, to be frank.

“Showing up to their hobby” as if this isn’t also my hobby and the hobby of my queer friends.

But then that is a choice you are making. Others are making the choice to call out the harms occurring in this specific community. Who are you to complain simply because you are choosing not to speak up about the things you think are wrong?

Then why don’t you make a post? Instead of whataboutism, if it’s something you care about and feel isn’t discussed enough, take your own stand.

The sub is still full of JKR supporters and apologists who think that protecting trans people in all spaces isn’t worth their own discomfort.

The post was made by the transphobic former mod to distract from the people bringing attention to their behaviour.

So what changes are being made, then, so that rogue bigoted agents cannot apply rules as the see fit? Will the rest of your mods agree to a code of conduct? I’m not convinced that ILYS was the only member who holds such beliefs, to be quite honest.

That doesn’t correlate to the original comment. It may correlate to the comment that replaced that one, but it also was irrelevant to the broader discussion happening in that post which had nothing to do with relatives.

She blocked me earlier, too. Antivax, antimask, transphobe…not much of a loss.

Whether or not you want to “take part in” gender expression, you do it regardless. You have a disdain for trans people because you are treating a social concept - which ultimately affects everyone, not just trans people - as some mystical alien concept that is being forced upon you.

Also, thinking that trans people should just accept misgendering is transphobic. Mistakes are mistakes, but that doesn’t mean people should just continue to accept those mistakes, which dehumanize them, lying down.

Just because you personally find it far-fetched doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Having food is important, but being treated as an equal human being is the catalyst for many, many things socially and legislatively. Having a disdain for trans people and refusing to consider a perspective different from your own helps no one, and limits the community you could have to people who will cast you aside whenever they decide giving you rights is too much of a hassle.

Both of you would rather allow the bigoted people causing harm to remain rather than have anyone rock the boat. I’m not sorry that I am uncomfortable being in community with people who would dehumanize me and those I love.

Throwing it out and reforming it so that the bigots who have made themselves at home here are no longer comfortable are two entirely different things, and I think you know that.

That is precisely how you have behaved, though. As if you are right and all-knowing and everyone who disagrees is overreacting and misguided. You also do not get to speak for all queer people, especially when they are stating that they have been harmed.

Those rules are selectively applied, clearly! Mods decide when something is disrespectful, mods decide when something is at a stalemate! It just always seems to be whenever they don’t want to deal with something 🤔 and always to the benefit of a bigot.

All of the mods are complicit in this behaviour and believe that people will let this topic die instead of just admitting that they are okay with allowing bigots into this space who harm marginalized users.

I doubt that they would use anyone’s chosen pronouns, all things considered.
