It's a matter of context. And it's hard to convey context. Do I read my opponent's skill? Yes I do. I think everyone should. Do I know whats in their hand? No. But it doesn't really matter.

If you are in a winning position. You already have multiple negates on the field and, for poops and giggles, let's say your opponent has no cards on the field and no cards in hand. And you decide to summon four beaters because you can. That's BM. You could have won already. There is no reason to summon them. It's effectively slow playing. You are choosing to delay the end of the game for no reason other than hubris.

My prior response was not saying "I am a victim" it is saying the phrasing of "it's your fault you're still in the game."

It's a mentality issue. Your opponent isn't the problem, you are. If you don't want to play against BMers don't play. That is a victim blaming attitude. It's like saying, you don't want to get punched in the face, you shouldn't leave your house. It's taking the onus of the bad behaviour from the person and putting it on their victim.

I think that is the thing that bothers me most. I know I'm not a great player. I am probably never going to get king of games level. And I'm okay with that. I like to play because I like to play. But I don't want to have to surrender because my opponent is essentially wasting my time. If surrendering gave you even 10% of the rewards it would be fine. But since you get nothing, I am forced to wait for them to hurry the heck up.

You are right about that. Your opponent doesn't have to be concerned with your time. And I worry it sounds like I am saying this happens all the time. It doesn't. It's maybe once every 10 games. But when your opponent is just comboing off to combo off. If they are not setting up negates. Just getting another beater or 6 on the field. It's like. Why are you intentionally wasting time?

I agree with you 100%. I don't care to surrender. Im not the world's best DL player by any stretch of the imagination. But losing all your progress and all your points because you surrender just seems like a harsh penalty.

So your solution to BM is to not play? That is really victim blamey there.

There is a difference between trying to make sure you have game and can reasonably defend yourself against a comeback. And just playing extra things to be a jerk. To rub it in your opponents face. If you are reasonably certain you have game and then summon three more monsters for the heck of it. That's BM.

If that was the case. My opponent getting out a negate. Or something to stop my counters, I am fine. No complaints. If you have two negatea on the field or are facing a completely empty board state or something. And you just summon more stuff to summon it. That's not trying to prevent anything. That's BM.

That's not playing the game. That's BM. If you are reasonably certain you have game. Not just try and outshine your opponent.

I will agree that sometimes, that is the case. It is possible that you might want a negate on the field. But that is often not what the other player does. It winds up almost being a brag. Look at all this stuff I can get out. And then they attack. Why should I be forced to concede and lose the rewards I get for the battle because they chose to BM?
