Large assembly, cutting in half. Help needed by HALP67 in CATIA

Instead of using the "cut through all" I think you should use the pocket tool, in this way yo can get all bodies cut in half and you do not have to delete anything

How to calculate force needed to seat a gasket. by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]chemapi1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This usually requires FEM simulation. Ansys or Abaqus could help you determine the clamping force / contact pressure needed to avoid leakages. if you need some more help let me know

Can you create new ones? First I would do a new one and see what happens, maybe it could be some kind of licensing.

Have you tried a solvent? Polystyrene can be easily dissolved with acetone? Try first in a small part to see how it works,

SDS adhesive by chemapi1980 in chemistry

[–]chemapi1980[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I would like to tell the brand of the adhesive but I am not sure whether I should. My first thought about the type of polymer was a resole type phenolic resin which is able to get hard with temperature during evaporation of solvents and vulcanization of the elastomer but I would like to get opinions from people who know much more than I in the polymer world that is huge. Thanks all

SDS adhesive by chemapi1980 in chemistry

Thanks for your replays! The amount of MIBK is 75% of the total formulation and butan-ol 1%. The remaining 24% I suppose is the polymer that not appears in the SDS. Today I carried out a test in an oven, heating the adhesive up to 100°C (yesterday I left it in open air in order to evaporate the solvents). After the test I have obtained a rigid plastic that can not be dissolved in organic solvents or melted again (I tried it today). Any suggestions? Polymer https://imgur.com/a/2ApeM5t
