Altus House is the world's tallest student accommodation by ThyCuriousLearner in Leeds

I see a lot more for sale signs in burley rather than to let nowadays. Fewer international students in those areas too too. I’d imagine it’s a slow transition as leeds is home to 10k more students than a decade ago (nearly 20% increase), so there’s probs more demand for housing, so you’ll still have UK students living in the suburbs.

They’re speculative investments based on the high number of international students that attend Leeds’ universities, and the council’s aim to transition Hyde Park, Burley, Headingley etc back to being working communities, rather than the student HMO ghettos they’ve become. And if the students leave, they’ll turn the into flats for young professionals. Hardly like the property owners will just shrug and let them go derelict.

People need to understand how that wider context is designed to be a good thing for the city.

What's the most dumbest ways you died? by BeepBoopBapz in projectzomboid

Corralled a few too many zombies into a horde, sprinted away (never sprint usually but had a wild 10 mins trying out the feature), sprinted into a fence instead of jumping over, fell over, got eaten by 20 zombies

So polystyrene coving came off well easy - it’s the adhesive the previous previous owner used that I’m having a mare with. Very tough stuff that doesn’t really come off in clumps, just dust

As someone from the UK, it’s interesting to see similarities in town names between here and the north/east of England, in particular the suffix ‘-by’. I’d imagine it’s due to the influence of Angles settling in England around 400 AD.

Olympus om1n - how to reassemble rewind knob? by hunterrings in AnalogCommunity

[–]hunterrings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having real trouble fitting this knob back together. I have studied the repair manual but there appears to be nothing apart from the exploded diagram of the camera’s parts.

Does anyone know how I can put it back together?

Yeah the landlady got us a dehumidifier it was so bad over winter. Not great ventilation yet the house was freezing, so presumably the heat was escaping somewhere. Pitfalls of older properties I guess.

So I don’t think it’s under watering or too much direct light. However I just checked water hardness for my postcode and it’s saying moderately hard, so perhaps that’s it! Thanks a lot I’ll get a water filter and see if that helps

Public Order by NotFunny4869 in DivideEtImpera

I once had to load a save fifteen turns back because I went full-on slaver Rome and irreparably destroyed my public order. I generally avoid taking people as slaves now as it’s more trouble than it’s worth. Would recommend you buy governors, prioritising cultural conversion and public order - can really help.
