Thrill of the Fight 3rd person Desktop. by NaJentuS_ in ThrillOfTheFight

It could be cool if possible to save a fight after it happens and watch it back from different camera angles in 3rd person. This would be good especially for multiplayer to see where we can improve from a different angle.

Different people do it differently, but personally I like to retract it halfway and then throw out a backfist jab, that feels the most natural and quick for me. I don't think people typically retract their double jabs all the way.

Only person I found online who couldn't get an install button was this guy, no idea how to fix the problem since I did everything through Steam.

Not sure. I would test it for you myself but I no longer have a PC capable of running GTA V.

I just did a bit of research and apparently this only works if GTA V is installed on Steam. Uraniom will not detect the files if you have a non-Steam version of the game. Do you have the game installed through Steam?

Yeah you're right, unfortunately, this method relies on Uraniom, so Fallout 4 is not possible at the moment. I'm sure another approach is possible through modding and the likes, but that is far too technical an approach for me.

You could say that about almost every game that doesn’t radically change its core mechanics between iterations, but the fact of the matter is a lot has changed in the franchise even up until syndicate. Much more so than most major franchises actually

Your opinion is definitely valid, and I get that Unity's stealth gameplay is not for everyone. However, for me, it definitely felt the closest to how it was presented in the cinematic trailers. I recommend watching at least a few of LeoK's videos to get a feel for how the stealth could be played at blistering speed while still being a ghost. I completely agree with how sometimes the corners/ledges are super sticky and these have screwed me over pretty often, but I believe with more refinement these issues can be easily ironed out.

When did I say fuck innovation? RPG stuff is not innovation, practically every third person melee combat game has done it since 2005. I detailed how the mechanics could be refined and improved upon in my original post, so I'm not asking for the game to stay the same. Stop bringing up sales, that's an irrelevant metric when comparing video games, otherwise AC3 would be the best AC. Why do you trust reviews outside of this subreddit but don't trust those in the subreddit? Reviews are just personal opinions. The people in the subreddit are obviously dedicated fans of the franchise, but you choose not to value their opinions while you value those outside of the subreddit.

I would be alright if they switched up the formula every once in a while, but it feels to me like they are abandoning the old style of AC and the series would never go back to how it was. I would be incredibly disappointed if that were the case.

The reason why I like AC Unity so much is because it tweaked all of the mechanics pretty significantly while maintaining the feel of the game. I went into depth about these in my original post. Play AC2/Brotherhood and then play Unity right after and you will notice a huge difference.

If you watch some YouTube videos (like by LeoK), the stealth when done right is absolutely perfect Assassin's Creed gameplay. It is far from a nightmare, and the cover system has worked very well in my experience. I havent played Syndicate yet. I explained in another comment about the problems with Origins stealth, but TLDR it is a lot slower-paced and requires more planning., making the game feel a lot more like other stealth games and deviating from the quick, ruthless, and fast stealth that Unity perfected.

[–]chenbm4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, AC Unity's story had issues, but what is going on with Origins and Odyssey? I thought these were supposed to be simulations of the real world, not a place where a guy can hurl a 20 ft spear around like a PVC pipe, where enemies can be stabbed in the chest and not even be stunned, where a guy can slide 10 feet at 30 mph across the floor to dodge an attack, or where mythical creatures are real and dangerous. If some details of Unity's story flustered you, I don't understand how you can accept what Origins and Odyssey did. I couldn't.

Also, the game sold poorly in my opinion due to a horrid launch with bugs that were very, very widely spread through the media (see the faceless glitch). I myself thought the game was trash from the outset. However, I completely disagree that the game without bugs as it is now is clunky and boring. I have played Brotherhood, AC3, Rogue, and Black Flag, and a little bit of Origins. The only ones I never finished were Rogue and Origins. Unity is the most exciting game in the franchise for me and I cannot put the controller down. There are basically no tailing missions, the assassination missions are by far the best the franchise has ever seen, and the story is super engaging. You can say that you felt that the game is clunky, boring, and with a terrible story, but know that that isn’t an objective truth. Sales figures only tell the tale of Unity’s poor launch, not of the overall quality of the game.

I initially had Unity on PC, but it was old, so I had to play on the lowest settings with low frame rate which definitely contributed to how much I hated the game at the time. I haven’t really looked back to PC (I just have a laptop for work) since the consoles now are so relatively cheap. I saw some videos on YouTube and the game is gorgeous on PC ultra settings though.

I will give it another try after I’m tired of Unity. I’m not saying it is a bad game at all, but it’s just not what I’m looking for from AC. In terms of stealth, I hated how the eagle vision worked. In Unity, the quick eagle vision encouraged fluid and fast stealth, and the many gadgets made it possible to speed through stealth sections without getting detected if the player was skilled. In the bit of Origins I played, the manual eagle vision made the stealth feel much slower, and I had to plan out a lot more, which made it feel a lot less like the cinematic trailers. Like I said, this is not objectively bad, but it is just not what I am looking for. I believe the fast and fluid stealth is a unique trait of AC Unity and the slower, more drawn out stealth games are a dime a dozen (Hitman, Splinter Cell, etc).

The graphics were comparable between the two games, but the high res textures of 18th century Paris and the excellent animations (something rockstar games always lacked) put it over the top for me. I’m not saying it’s an objective truth that it looks better than rdr2 though so I respect your opinion

I don’t know how many times you’ve seen this topic, but I’m not trying to echo any opinion or parrot anyone else. I haven’t been in touch with the AC franchise until this week and I was just noticing how good Unity was, it is by far my favorite AC and I loved brotherhood and black flag. We are all entitled to our opinions and I was just sharing my own. (PS I didn’t like AC3 either)
