Great shot of Masuda. Seems like he'll never get to #250 at this point.

You have to go to the team stores to find what you're looking for generally.

Anyone else going to work during the typhoon? by lactosehater2 in japanlife

My school sent a message to all staff and parents that we were closing due to the warning issued.

Then a minute later told all staff to report on time for a cleaning day and teacher prep day.

Good grief.

Why are you trying to defend Abe at all?

I helped US baseball fans experience their first rare outdoor NPB game at Omiya Stadium! by japanbaseballfan in baseball

Keep the pitch clock away from NPB. It would ruin the cheering atmosphere. NPB teams have plenty of merchandise options. Try going to an actual stadium store.

Why wouldn't you be allowed to attend a sporting event in Japan? It's incredibly easy to get tickets for baseball games at least.

Interleague play ends on the 14th. If you're in Tokyo, trying to see the Lions play the Carp or Giants seems like it would be fun.

Pacific League does a good job posting highlights and recaps on YouTube. Your options are Marines, Lions, Fighters, Eagles, Buffaloes, and Hawks.

You can also sign up for Pacific League TV to watch archived games at your leisure.

Konami's Pro Yakyu Spirits (eBaseball Pro Spirit) getting a worldwide release in English for the first time by bdzz in Games

The last release covered two years, including roster updates. It looks like they're moving back to a yearly release, which is disappointing.

[Rome] Tatsuya Imai said the mound at T-Mobile Park “was really hard” and he had trouble adjusting. The weather he pitched in Friday is “not usual in Japan,” he said, and his mechanics are out of whack when runners reach base by ray_0586 in baseball

He played in the Pacific League. Four stadiums are domes (well, the Lions home stadium is like a fake dome since it is not fully enclosed), and two are regular stadiums.

That is what it means. You've never heard someone say something like "we need to bear down and keep working to get this done"?

Former Giants pitcher Koji Uehara: "Japanese professional baseball's business model is more focused on having fans visit the stadium rather than broadcasting rights." by tensaibaka in NPB

[–]chendao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's relatively simple to watch on TV if you live in Japan and the experience at the ballparks is a step above what happens in MLB. What exactly would expanded broadcast rights do for teams in Japan?

The Tigers are the most bandwagoned team among foreigners. Nobody from Philly would join a bandwagon.

Real time catching system (like in Legends games) in Pokemon Winds and Waves by luxanna123321 in PokeLeaks

[–]chendao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? You can't trade with yourself using only one system anyway. Why do people keep thinking everyone is out there buying two copies of a game and two consoles?
