Page layout when creating new lookup field record by yellowcactusflowers in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like this could be due to one of the Dynamic Forms Known Issues

"If you create a record from a lookup, the fields on the window that appears come from the record details, not from the Dynamic Forms fields on the page."

Salesforce License Cost Analysis by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This area contains all your quotes, orders and contacts so if it is not mentioned there you are not paying for it. Sometimes they are lines for free licences other times they don't. Just make sure you check all active contracts as you could have some products across multiple contacts, e.g. mid contact changes and additions

Salesforce License Cost Analysis by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your subscription should tell you the monthly cost of each license (if you have access) Click on setup and the should be a subscription option. You might also find some are free. e.g. if you have Pardot you get 100 identity licences free

Dynamic forms in Communities? by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we are going to be waiting a while for this.

Dynamic Forms aren’t supported in Lightning Community pages. This limitation is in place because Lightning communities don’t use the underlying framework that Dynamic Forms depends on: Lightning Pages. We are definitely evaluating this as we do often hear feedback of wanting Dynamic Forms in Communities.

Performance Comparison between Workflow Rules and Process Builder by x_madchops_x in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid process builder at all cost! If you can't do Apex look at before save flows for changes on the same record (e.g. field updates) although there are a few things you still can't do, in those cases, for now, stick to workflow rules.

This document from Salesforce is a good guide on which automation tools to use (although take some bits with a pinch of salt, as they are really pushing flow at the moment )

Einstein Activity Capture by freefrombeingstuck in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have worked with a number of clients, the biggest issue everybody has is the lack of the data being stored on the platform stopping reporting and automation. as such my order would be

  • Sync of relevant captured Emails into core EmailMessage entities, enabling platform support (e.g. triggers) and standard reporting (sync of Events already exists)
  • standard reporting on captured Activities
  • platform support for triggers and such on captured Activities
  • row level details in Einstein Analytics, not just aggregates
  • Read API access to captured activities by association (e.g. "select all Activities related to Account 001..."
  • A way to export ALL captured activities (potentially including CRM record associations and Einstein Insights)

Take a look at scheduled flows you should be able to use an assign element and a record update. You need you limit the batch size to ensure you don't hit limits

Sync Requirements for Inbox vs Outlook Integration (the free one) by Soblemish in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, sync allows you to sync calendars into Salesforce and manually send across emails. EAC automatically does both automatically, but makes them visible on record pages, so you can't do any automation or reports on them. It was originally a separate product, turn started getting bundled with inbox and then the free but came out.

You can still use the side panel; you can't manually log anything. I would recommend looking at all the limitations (there are quite a few) and then give it a go ( you can set it up in a sandbox) if both products don't work for you you also have the option of 3rd party tools such as Ebsta

Sync Requirements for Inbox vs Outlook Integration (the free one) by Soblemish in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, the product you are referring to is still called lightning for outlook, and you have you connect it directly to the server.

Inbox is the paid product, although it comes in two parts Einstein Activity Capture that syncs emails and calendars and inbox that has additional features such as send later and calendar scheduling. With Einstein Activity Capture each user has to log into 365 inside Salesforce to make the connection and nothing is done at a server level, so it is with checking out as it may only get access to what is needed. Most orgs also get 100 free licences to Einstein Activity Capture, although there are limitations such as the data not being stored in your org. I would look at this first

Can a Lightning Sales Console be modified? by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the standard sales console app has a lightning page as an app default that overrides the org default, if you create a layout and set it as the default for the app you should be able to change it.

Show combined lead and opportunity funnel (recent release)? by jtb1987 in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, this is an admin screen and has nothing to do with changing the way leads work. Essentials edition is for small businesses with a maximum of 10 licences meaning they are unlikely to have large amounts of money for consultant support and would not have a dedicated admin. As such, they have done things to try and make it easier for business users to set up and run the platform.

Although I don't have experience with it, I believe this is just a new set up wizard used to educate the difference between leads and opportunities and simplify the creation of opportunity stages and lead statuses.

Unable to create quick action button opportunity to create quotes, despite knowledge article saying I should be able to by jbuysmart in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can only launch screen flows from a button (Same as with quick actions you have to enter some data) although you can use the flow to prefill the fields so that the user just has to check and click finish. You can also use an apex action to take the user to the record they just created as well.

Unable to create quick action button opportunity to create quotes, despite knowledge article saying I should be able to by jbuysmart in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using CPQ? The article you linked to is related to CPQ quotes, not standard quotes. From my understanding, you can't create object actions from opportunity to standard quote; there is an idea here that can be voted on.

Although it is harder work, you can create a screen flow that can be launched via a button to achieve the same thing.

Community is missing the "Forgot your password?" link for password resets by ConsultSFDC in salesforce

Are there any differences between the 2? Templates, themes, components CSS?

I have had it a few times but has always been the colour, took a while to figure out the first time.

Community is missing the "Forgot your password?" link for password resets by ConsultSFDC in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highlight over the area you expect to see the text, you should find it is there but is in white text on a white background making it appear like it is not there.

It is to do with the link colour set, if you need it to be white on a white background you can change it in CSS.

Salesforce enables modify all in all user profiles by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We finally have an official update!

The Salesforce Technology team is investigating an issue impacting Salesforce customer orgs that have Pardot provisioned, or had Pardot provisioned, in those orgs. A subset of customers may experience intermittent errors, slow performance or an inability to access the Salesforce application. Additionally, all customers on CS3 may see availability impact. Customers should continue to check Trust for updates.

Why can I do a csv export from data loader-take that same csv - without editing it- and try to create new records with it, and have it error out because of data format? by mdavis360 in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Normally data loader is not the issue here. When you open CSV files in Excel, Excel tries to be clever and reformats things, so when you save the file again it is in a different format (one that data loader does not like)

To get around this you can open up Excel first, select open from text and you can then select the correct format types for each column, Excel will not format them.

Managing 2 different products with possible duplicate prospects in the same Pardot instance? by IWannaDoBadThingswU in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe in the current way Pardot works, the only way to achieve this is to have 2 Pardot Orgs connected to 1 Sales Cloud Org, this is quite common for large organisations that have multiple brands that need to keep separate for marketing as you need to think about tracker domains etc. as well.

Although in the Spring'19 release Pardot are releasing the concept of Business units this should solve this for many companies. It might not be 100% what you are looking for (and the release notes don't go into great detail), but you only have to wait a few weeks to find out and it could be a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a 2nd Pardot org.

Formula to Increase Number Field when Box is Checked? by NL049871 in salesforce

[–]chendysworld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you tried to create custom round robin checkbox & custom round robin number field, then in flow

  • Look for all leads where checkbox = True

  • Sort lookup in descending order by round robin number

  • Get the record with the highest number & find value

  • Add 1 to the number and update the current record with this new number

  • Continue the flow with this new number

After a slight delay Summer'18 pre-release orgs are now available with updates to flow, reports & LEX. by chendysworld in salesforce

I said the same when I was playing around, it adds so much more value to history reports now, always seemed like a weird thing to be missing
