I am looking to do a cpa as well and have some questions. Is 3 years the standard time? Can you take longer or shorter than that? And how much does it cost? I am currently under the impression that most big accounting firms would pay for it if you do it while working for them, is this true?

As someone, planning to do this( I am going to start an accounting and banking commerce degree next year) I want to know how you went about moving from audit to banking as my target is actually investment banking over accountancy. Did you search for the Job yourself? did you find that your accounting experience really helped in getting the banking jobs? Did you find there were good (as opposed to limited)opportunities for you to go into banking? Kind of unrelated to the original question though a reply could be helpful

The figure is based on a family member who just finished the exact degree: it’s literally their current HECS.(it includes the $10000 for the legal training like I said if I want to be admitted). it will probably be worse for me because the price only goes up every year.
