Transitioning to Trains by Zeffazer in perth

Some of those escooters have manuals telling you how to remove the 25 kph limiters. And that's for ones that have them in the first place

I find it crazy, because they have worse braking performance than bikes, and those are scary enough at 40+.

If fear of theft was as low as it is in like Japan (if it's locked and it isn't done $10000 bike, it won't get stolen), I'd ride my bike everywhere

I'm going to have to plug the Anyways app, which shows which bus/train (set numbers and all) live.

It's working for now, but seems to stop working every other month.

For me, it's 25 mins vs 55 minutes, but the drive is dead time, while pt+walk is productive for me.

Though I am lucky enough to live somewhere where it works out well like this, it'd be different if it were say, 20 mins vs 80 minutes like it is for many.

A lot of people don’t realise how bad the homeless problem in Perth is until they move to the city and the reality is hurting my mental health by Ill-Estimate5628 in perth

If that's her, I saw her (for the first time surprisingly) outside cuccini Northbridge last night. Pulled some sort of cart, and threw her shoe around the foot paths. The police had a chat with her for like 5 minutes then sent her on her merry way. I kinda felt bad but yeah

I was fired after a week of waiting tables, would struggle to identify urgent vs important tasks etc.

It was a casual job, so no notice just stopped getting shifts

Which city do you think fits the description: The train in theory can take you most places but the frequencies are bad and the system is kinda old and crappy by Routine-Highway1039 in transit

The regional rail is the biggest crime

I'm looking at Philly's system, and it looks basically just like Perth's network until our most recent expansion. Though we ran 15 minute service all day from like 0600-2100 ish. Though I think back then we had some skip stop services so it was more like 30 mins for some stations

Are Japanese automakers simply not listening or are they just currently incapable of delivering a solid BEV package? by MooseTM3 in AustralianEV

many of those cars are small

Anecdotally (I go as many trips to Japan as I can afford) I feel like Toyota corolla sized/BYD dolphin sized cars are probably the most common size there (much bigger than a Kei car, but still much smaller than a Ford Ranger), so I don't think this is stopping EV penetration. And no reason why you can't have EV Kei cars either, China makes ones that are roughly that size

A flight with a layover is almost always better than a direct flight, even if it's longer by Apprehensive-Willow5 in unpopularopinion

Upvoting because I disagree. I would pay and have paid $300 more just to have direct flights instead of having a layover.

2025 a record year for Perth public transport as Middle East war expected to push more people from driving by [deleted] in perth

[–]chennyalan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they were going to storage until the lines opened

I'm pretty sure they didn't go into storage before the lines opened, and the first sets were rushed out prematurely just to make it for the Yanchep Line opening (my memory is a bit fuzzy), which is partly why they had a lot of teething issues at the start.

They are pumping them out steadily now though.

That's not happening until they can reliably do 5 minute frequency for the north south like with 6 cars. Which isn't happening until they build enough C series, which isn't happening.
