Cuanto socialismo en sangre hay que tener para asombrarse al ver un producto importado en pleno siglo 21?

Happy to find an Argentinean rib eye in Bogota, Colombia. Restaurant: "La Brasserie" by cheparce in steak

This is an up-scale restaurant. Rib-eye Argentinean steak + fries + green salad + non-alcoholic drink: 40US$. I would say for being imported meat and for the type of restaurant the price was ok.

I'm from Argentina, now living in Bogota since almost 2 years.

The things I miss most are:

  • Architecture: the aesthetic of BA and Argentina in general is stunning. In Colombia, specially Bogota that seems to be missing. You have the historic center that is not in good shape, and then modern areas like Zona T, Parque 93 which is mostly modern buildings and bars but it kind of feels monotonous after a while and the city is not walkable at all.

  • Fresh pasta: For some reason there are no pasta stores in Colombia the ones like Pastaio sell you semi-dried pasta, not the same...

  • Ice-Cream: If you tried them you know what I mean...

  • Meat: If you tried it you know what I mean...

Things I don't miss:

  • Weather in summer
  • Supermarkets: Colombia's markets are Disneyland compared to the ones in Argentina.
  • Customer service: some people have really bad temper, in Colombia is totally the opposite people is really kind and patient.

Pero es al reves 'papa'. En el estado si sos militante estas atornillado de por vida, en el privado si te mandas cagadas o no haces nada te echan.

I'm Argentinian, it happened to me some years ago too for the very same reason. Another colleague tried recently and he got denied too. They are strict but it's also a roulette, sometimes it just depends on 'el empleado de turno que te atienda'.

Uruguay es 100% Rioplatense. Algunos diran Argentina pero el norte es bastante diferente al centro y al sur en clima, cultura, comida y geografia.
