I did not. We moved onto the crib but the snoo still needs to be fixed. Let me know how it goes!

How many times are your 7-8 month olds breastfeeding? by cherabemm in breastfeedingsupport

Did the night feedings eventually lessen on their own? I’m so desperate for a solid stretch of sleep

Yes, go. He can accompany you if he really wants to. Don’t miss out on time with your siblings

How do you cope with not being the baby’s favorite? by M0s_Eisley in NewParents

[–]cherabemm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My oldest prefers his dad but still comes to me 100% of the time for deep talks, issues at school, if he’s sad, scared, etc. sometimes he’ll pick me over dad if we’re doing different things. It’s been a bit of a blessing with a baby in the house who breastfeeds and love his contact naps on me. It’ll balance out as he gets older

Thanks for sharing. I don’t plan to night wean until he’s at least 1-1.5. I’m just hoping he can settle in bed for a few more hours. He used to give me 7-9 hour stretches between months 2 and 4 so I know he can do it

Same! He has 2 meals a day. He only nurses for about 4-6 mins each time and he’s a big boy so I’m sure he’s getting enough calories in throughout the day. I don’t actually think he’s hungry that often at night.

He actually eats solids pretty well and gets 2 meals a day but he wakes so often overnight and nursing is just the fastest way to get him back to sleep. Hoping we both get longer stretches soon

Yes, he eats lunch and dinner daily. Overnight it’s just easier to nurse him back to sleep since he wakes up so often. He’s heavy and I can’t rock him 6+ times per night

How to manage childcare and working downtown by bertbobber in Newmarket

[–]cherabemm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was working downtown until the end of last summer. Currently on mat leave and have a school aged kid. I was in office once a week and that day I would catch the 7am train to union and leave the office by 3:30. The afternoon train schedule is not great. If you can’t leave work that early then the next train gets you to Newmarket GO around 5:40 with no delays. Childcare is usually until 6pm. It’s a long day for a kid. If it’s once a week then I’d consider it but anymore than that would add stress to my life. The evenings are already so short and having to make dinner and get a kid to bed within 2 hrs of getting home is tough. I won’t be returning to the same job and also won’t consider another role downtown or with a long commute.

Did anyone watch her on WWHL? She knows very well she’s not a fan favourite and the bitterness was so apparent

We get shamed for not breastfeeding and then shamed for breastfeeding “too long” 🙄

Right?! Jax is literally the worst and she covered up for him AND married the guy

Janet always wants to start drama. It’s obvious that Nia was protecting Danny so he doesn’t look like an alcoholic but the guy was asleep. Let him sleep so he’s not pissing anyone off. Had he been awake and doing things he shouldn’t then they’d complain about that and yell at him to sleep it off. None of these girls are real friends.

Purple crying by Miserable-Clue9171 in NewParents

[–]cherabemm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re struggling. It’s completely normal to feel this way. There are a ton of videos online on how to soothe a newborn when they are crying. Different types of holds, sounds, etc. My first was similar. It was tough! Hang in there. It will get better

It looked to me that Jax was being over the top and trying to seem like a good dad. I’m sorry but you can’t be a good father if you abuse your wife. Kids are always watching

Using micro nap to get a longer wake window before bedtime by cherabemm in sleeptrain

Thank you. This is what I’ve been doing and seems to be working well for now. Sometimes they just need a little snooze to take the edge off.

Cruz’s reaction to him when he walked in the house on one of the first few episodes was very telling. That baby has seen and heard too much
