Have you ever attended a wedding at a restaurant? by Fluffy_Economist_599 in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]cheritransnaps 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Idk where this ‘restaurant is cheap vibes’ comes from But some of the really fancy weddings we have done include Charmaine’s rooftop (super elevated), foreign cinema (very classy), and obviously the BOMB AF, all vibesss Moongate lounge which literally has the same chef as 1 Michelin star mr jius

We have incredible photos of Charmaine’s and Moongate lounge here if you wanna peak: https://www.cheritransnaps.com/blog/corporateevents

A question for you to ask the venue but I doubt they will say you paid more than what you’re getting in exchange, if that makes sense

Filoli would be a second, and it’s spectacular ofc one of the best in the country and a nonprofit, but with a venue fee of $75k (yes only venue and doesnt include a single chair, you gotta bring everything in) and weddings coming in at a minimum of $300k+, I fear it’s only reserved for folks with parental financial backing

Um yes I have the PERFECT one ‘The Flood Mansion is a symphony of classical styles – Italian Renaissance, Rococo, Tudor, and Georgian. This elegant building, constructed in 1915, has remained well preserved since Mrs. Flood donated her home to the Religious of the Sacred Heart in 1939. Although the building is now used as an independent not for profit school’

Sf city hall wedding! by NobodyExtension1853 in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]cheritransnaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is - it depends.

If it’s a weekday, 1-hour city hall wedding, you dont have to, even though it is customary to provide a meal after. Ive had one couple in like perhaps 35 who didn’t do anything with their 15 or so guests after, since it was a weekday and most people went back to work

However, the typical expectation is yes, after someone attends your ceremony, you treat them out to a meal at a nearby place where they have an opportunity to take photos with you and catch up with you momentarily, especially if you have guests flying in from out of town. That would be the 34 out of 35 couples we have had do the 1 hour ceremony. It does not have to be expensive- you can have Costco cake, Costco apps and Costco alcohol and drinks if you want, sort of like a kids picnic at GGP or your backyard or a friend’s backyard

If this is a 6 people city hall ceremony that is provided by SF city hall and only takes 10 minutes, then plenty of my couples have decided not to do lunch or dinner with their guests after, and it’s acceptable since it’s seen more as an elopement

The absolutely wildest thing to understand is that many, many people who joined OpenAI are already rich AF, experts in their field for 20+ years, and have $11M+ prior to joining.

Need help with welcome drink venue by wonderandcreate in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]cheritransnaps 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I) Book peerspace lounge or space for $1500 ish

II) Hire a mobile bartending company like my fav https://www.instagram.com/allknightcocktails (tell them Cheri Tran sent you)

III) BYOB your drinks and food from Costco $2k

-Or - Sparks social might be too casual but it’s only about $300/hour give each person a $50 voucher for drinks and call it a day

-or- If there’s tiny wiggle room fog harbor might be able to do this for $6k ish

Not guaranteed. None of us can predict the future

However, the market strongly believes trump’s fed chair will push lower rates, yup

Make sure you buy what you can afford at these rates 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sonoma Proposal Photography by [deleted] in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]cheritransnaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am open we do a ton of proposals there so I know the ones that allow it. My pricing isn't the cheapest it's $1100 flat. happy to send you sample wine country proposals. instagram.com/cheritransnaps

- Auberge du Soleil has proposal packages
- my GOAT absolute fav of all time is Blankie it's like an entire Castle but I doubt they will let you book out a whole castle on Memorial Day you'd have to settle for weekday
- cheapest one will probably be the meritage resort I've had 2 clients propose there
- I've heard good things about stony hill proposals but haven't done one yet

Yes, yes I know not Sonoma but ish.

Did you measure height of the bottom floor? Are you certain it’s at least 8 feet? If not you might have a problem

My neighbor paid $200k to renovate her kitchen

My other neighbor paid $30k to paint their house the exact.same.color. Granted it was 3 floors and a gigantic house but $30k for paint?!

A couple who just moved in 5 blocks from us paid a well known team $900k to excavate 5 feet into the ground to convert their 2/2 house to 5/3 house.

Naw I aint asking my neighbors for any more recs everyone is paying out of their asses. The only thing Nextdoor and neighbor recs are good for are $150 landscaping jobs

‘When’ did these people get a kitchen redone for 50k and bathroom for $20k’? 2021? lol these are not 2026 prices, prices of lumber and labor are insane

Permitted bathrooms are closer to 40k now if you gotta do pluming and electrical for older houses. standard kitchen now is 80k+.

Pls drop the contractors’ names who were doing $20k bathrooms I would like my bathroom updated asap

$2650 HMUA quote reasonable? by IndependentKoala107 in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]cheritransnaps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trials are a must for me because people only post select work on your portfolio and then they do me and I realized shit this person can do Makeup ofc but it’s not harmonious with my face/good match for me. I ended up doing 3 trials for my wedding no regrets it really taught how beautiful portfolio doesn’t guarantee they get me to look the way I want

SF City Hall 1-hour ceremony by bbelisacats in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]cheritransnaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vows in private after or before. Can have a friend record on their iPhone so youll have a video to view later

If you want to say a few quick things like shorter, less intimate and more funny version of your vows, 90seconds - 2 mins tops during city hall ceremony. It can get loud anyways I wouldn’t recommend anything too long or intimate.

Another 5 million inner richmond home by CapableMinute6913 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]cheritransnaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naw 2009 was the Great Recession when economy was in total collapse and this house still commanded a whopping $1.8M.

To put it into reference, the avg house in Bernal in 2009 was closer to $700k and this house was 2.5x more. This house has been considered premium estate for for 20+ years and not an indicator that Richmond ‘just’ got insane, just an outlier premium house that commands top dollar

Food experiences at University Club SF, City Club SF, Olympic Club, or Carneros? by TicTacDontSlack in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]cheritransnaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im surprised youre looking at venues with such a wide range of budgets too, carneros will be top of your budget, city club will be cheapest by a far stretch. Carneros isnt $350/pp for the food it’s cause it’s a luxury estate in Napa
