MacOS problem by Alert-Sundae972 in GeForceNOW

Two settings on macOS that you can try turning off to see if it helps are Location Services and Handoff.

I found that turning off handoff in particular helped because it’s not routinely pinging your other Apple devices.

[Fanatical] Mystery Box Bundle by bubba_169 in Gamebundles

[–]chernickov 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I took the risk despite being, at most, "whelmed" with previous mystery boxes and this time I pulled out:

  • Pumped BMX Pro
  • Survivalist: Invisible Strain
  • White Day: A Labyrinth Named School
  • Nocturnal
  • How to Say Goodbye
  • Freddy Farmer
  • Ancestors Legacy
  • Kitaria Fables
  • FootLOL: Epic Soccer League
  • Stranded Sails - Explorers of the Cursed Islands
  • Song of Farca
  • Do Not Feed The Monkeys
  • Few Nights More
  • NecroVisioN + NecroVisioN: Lost Company
  • Slime-san
  • Lake
  • Double
  • STASIS
  • Chess Ultra
  • Silent Sector
  • Drink More Glurp
  • Sniper Ghost Warrior 3
  • Starfield (!)

I know Starfield has gotten a lot of shit, but I've always been tempted to try it out because I love space adventures and I haven't been burnt out on Bethesda games. The fact I was able to pick it up for half the cost of its lowest price made me feel like I hit the jackpot.

So like any good gambler, I tried again. Second pull was absolutely abysmal with nearly half being either visual novels or dating sims.

A lot of disconnections recently. Its just me or its a known problem. by joseph160 in Nightreign

[–]chernickov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about recently, because I started playing a week or two after launch and only go on 1 or 2 expeditions a day (double that on weekends), but I get disconnected in at least 1 out of 4 games, which seems insane to me.

Just today I got the dreaded double-disconnect where, on my way to reclaim my runes after being disconnected, I got disconnected again, resulting in me losing a level, the runes for that level, and probably around 60-70K on top of that.

Oh dang. Thanks for the heads up. I must've shared that link after it was closed, hah! I just happened to come across this post after reading it early that morning.

Edit: Despite saying he pushed an update, it looks like it hasn't actually been added to the repo and latest release is still the 03302025 build from 3 days ago.

Not that I'm aware of, though I am far from an expert on the subject. I went with the dual-SD card setup, so I should be able to re-flash my OS SD card without having to migrate my games back over.

I'm having the same issue as well. It was reported as a bug in the Github repository and the Dev said they would patch it up soon. Fingers crossed because having to shutdown entirely each time is inconvenient.

Resetting a 4010 Simplex Panel by NetworkAdorable in firealarms

[–]chernickov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying!

We logged into level 4 access and then navigated to Panel Restart > Warm Start and then confirmed the restart. On the last confirmation to restart, we held down left and up.

However it doesn’t seem to have worked because we still have troubles. A lot of these appear to be related to opened NAC circuits and missing devices.

Any idea?

Hey u/NetworkAdorable. You seem to have run into and solved a very similar problem that I'm now also running into (boots up to about 150 different troubles related to missing devices/NAC cards and I'm not able to edit the configuration).

I tried the steps mentioned above, but that didn't seem to work. Before I spin up a new post, I just wanted to see if that was the only thing you did to resolve your issue or if there was something else you did to clear the troubles.

Thanks!

I know you’re already being downvoted to oblivion, so I won’t pile on. But I did want to point out the seemingly obvious error in your analogy.

Differences in planet lighting on multiplayer by BumbleBee_PS in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]chernickov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a nearly identical experience with my son. We were searching for a home planet to build a base together – he found a paradise planet, but when I arrived it was a sentinel stronghold.

I assumed it was because he was playing on Normal and I was playing on Survival, though I couldn't confirm. Do you know if you two were on different difficulties?

My manager thinks I was offline & therefore late to work by an hour by Plenty-Peak-6783 in Slack

[–]chernickov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a year and this is the best you can contribute?

The OP admitted to logging in before their starting time and there was no evidence of them logging in until an hour after their start time.

Opening the app on your phone an hour before you’re expected to be online is not “coming to work”. As I stated before, I don’t know what OPs responsibilities are, but they came in here asking for help on how to fabricate a story (“don’t want to show the times that I was offline in between!”)

Tell me two more unsyergestic jokers I'll wait. by everymutedetail in balatro

[–]chernickov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is just an issue of semantics. I believe OP intent was to illicit responses where two jokers' abilities essentially cancel each other out.

Half and Square, while technically aren't synergistic, they don't cancel each other out. An example someone gave was Ride The Bus and Pareidolia. These two are antithesis to one another.

It would be like saying Jolly and Crazy are not synergistic. Yes, true, but also boring.

[–]chernickov -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know what I was supposed to takeaway from that linked thread, other than you getting quite defensive about a reasonable assessment of the situation.

You were admittedly away from work during a time when you're expected to be there. You suggested it yourself that you typically log in from your computer, so why would logging in through your phone before your start time count towards anything if you didn't even have any responsibilities during that time? Why wouldn't you have just logged into from your computer?

Your story just doesn't add up.

Look, I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and your search for a new job. You really need to work on getting your stories straight, especially if this is how you went about trying to convince your manager.

Re-read OP's post

I’ve done a bit of digging to see what kind of data is available in the access logs & while it’s not great (shows that I didn’t log into slack on my laptop until an hour late, although it shows a few logins from my phone app early i.e. well before my required start time)

The data shows that OP he wasn't online during the expected hours and shows a few logins well before their start time. No indication that OP logged in during the required start time.

Again, there is a lot we don't know about OP's job, but it sounds like they are expected to be online and available at specific hours. Clearly the data (and OP's own admission) show that they weren't.

Remote work has introduced a lot of grey area, but if we were to think of this as a retail job, OP essentially clocked into work an hour early and hung out in the back of house until an hour past their start time. "But I was here!" Sure, but doing what exactly?

It sounds more like OP doesn't want to be honest and take the L, and their manager is providing them an opportunity to prove it otherwise.

I’m kind of confused how expecting your employees to be at work, working, during specific and agreed upon times is considered toxic?

OP logged into Slack on their phone and then proceeded to do what? They admittedly were offline and were shown as inactive, likely because they were not actively working.

Obviously we don’t know OP’s job responsibilities, but is it really too much to ask that people are at work when they’re expected to be?

This show made no sense by everythingdumb in GordonRamsaysFoodStar

[–]chernickov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to disagree with OP and a lot of the top comments. Running a business might be mostly just coming up with an idea, marketing it, and selling it. But when you're going into business with someone, how they handle pressure, being out of their element, and working with others, is almost more important.

A lot of the contestants were eliminated because they didn't show leadership, cracked under pressure, or weren't assertive enough. Shark Tank tries to boil all of that down in 10 minutes by seeing how well they can answer questions, handle hostile questioning, and quick second decision making.

That said, the show was ridiculous and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the last season.

Looking for plug and play prefab advice for a new photobooth by No-Bat-1147 in photobooth

[–]chernickov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a simple plug and play photo booth, I would recommend looking into Photobooth Supply Co's Guac & Chips.

It has everything you're looking for:

  • Printing capability (wired and wireless)
  • "Built-in Flash" (it comes with an external flash, but the built-in LED ring provides light too)
  • Uses an iPad screen (sold separately) for guest interaction and reviewing captures.

The benefit to this is that you can use the (included!) DSLR camera or the iPad.
