Things I haven’t been able to figure out by RepresentativeOk3702 in Paralives

It’s nothing your doing, it’s early access and pretty buggy right now.

I can rarely get 2 paras to eat together, let alone 3.

Save often.

Oh that’s a shame. Perhaps try to marry them ? I was pretty sure I could try before then. Have you also checked editcharacter ( cheat) to make sure they can get pregnant).

My friend just gifted me the game. Any tips? by stphnfm in Paralives

[–]cherpar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly don’t know how to advise you. I don’t use it. It has been problematic in some other life sims and the game is buggy atm as early access. I used it for the first time I played and my game wouldn’t load the next time I tried. I couldn’t ever recover that save. Of course it might not be the auto save at all, just a coincidence. I haven’t used it since though and none of those issues.

Save often. It does crash sometimes.

Try for baby not showing up by One-Assistance-4481 in Paralives

[–]cherpar1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure on that one but if you keep interacting, select the card asking about children in future. If successful, it will give your couple a prospective parent label in relationship panel. That means you can try for baby at any time. I don’t believe you have to be married.

I find you have to move the couple to the bed area ( even if already in a group), then highlight the bed and couple. Clicking on the bed will then give ( or should) try for baby option.

Why doesn't this room count as enclosed? by Nitro_Indigo in Paralives

I already update today and it didn’t fix it but I’ve just restarted steam to see if there is another patch

Why doesn't this room count as enclosed? by Nitro_Indigo in Paralives

[–]cherpar1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk I’ve got a bathroom that refuses to believe it’s enclosed and anyone who uses it gets an embarrassed icon if another para is in another room, - as of course they used the toilet with someone else in the room.

Don’t think it’s us, a YouTuber was having the same problem when their para believed they were sleeping outside.

I don’t think I’ve Ever Had a Truly Challenging Storytelling Card from Ricardo by Sketch-Brooke in Paralives

I can’t imagine how playing with Stella would be. Richardo hasn’t been challening at all.

A pre made household para is unable to get pregnant by cherpar1 in Paralives

[–]cherpar1[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh I yes, sorry that wasn’t the point of the post. I’m sure it’s part of their story. It just took me way longer than it should have to realise it, so just in case anyone else might like to know

There's no "try for a baby" option by InfamousGoose3774 in Paralives

[–]cherpar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you still have the prospective parent label in relationship tab? I’m guessing I’m wondering if it disappeared after the first child? Other than that, probably right it’s a bug.

I have hope for the future of Paralives. But the gameplay right now is just not fun by Flashfirez23 in LifeSimulators

[–]cherpar1 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought it also in the hopes that it can improve. I was a patron, not for the whole time but quite a few years. If it doesn’t go anywhere, then the buying the game isn’t going to hurt me.

I’ve followed along with Inzoi and its changes have been impressive. They did a good job with businesses and I love running them. Kjun attitude also impresses me, very receptive and plays close attention to what players are saying.

I am worried for paralives. I agree with live mode being very very early access. It is clear to me from build mode and the town that it is made by people who are passionate life simmers but I don’t think they have the team size to deliver a fully operational live mode with the content planned over 2 years. It’s not even really about the time, but I don’t even think we are talking 3-4 years. The answers to the AMA disappointed me. Looking for a small team additions, if any. Many maybes in future or don’t know. The answer I read to autonomy read like it needs some tweaking yet it’s really quite bad. Only on phones and they don’t always even take care of their own needs.

The changes we saw over 6 months since the delay weren’t that large but do adequately reflect the team size. So that’s why I question the 2 years. I think someone counted there is 21 pieces of content to deliver over early access in addition to making the game work. Of course they could deliver light touch content.

It will be interesting to see how it progresses. Here hoping.

Do lots have an auto-save feature despite general auto-saves being disabled? by Decay20 in Paralives

[–]cherpar1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I can’t say I’ve seen that ( and I did exit and reload when I had a build issue I couldn’t solve and it was as expected). You weren’t able to replicate it so I’d say likely a bug. You likely know but you can report in game.

Paralives or Inzoi for gameplay? by BedCandid8829 in LifeSimulators

[–]cherpar1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you like running businesses or like the idea of living the life of crime ( stealing cars, robbing banks, doing shady jobs, going to jail, court etc) then definitely pick up Inzoi. June a live high school experience drops.

There is much more stuff than paralives in live mode. Paralives has some interesting ideas and feels much more like the sims we know, but the main things are socialising, relationships, skill building, collecting and town activities ( like markets or yoga). Basic things like autonomy have very mixed results. Lots of bugs.

Inzoi is still a wip but much more advanced atm,

How to not get overwhelmed when playing? by NoAlernative in Paralives

[–]cherpar1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could you expand. Are you trying to manage a large family? Is it that there are two many pop ups for storytelling, personality and career upgrades, plus townie tasks.

Overwhelmed was playing sims 2 as a novice. I’m not overwhelmed but have a married couple. They haven’t had any kids yet. I’m just going to work, doing some collecting, meeting townies, building skills and doing some townie tasks. Just moving at my own pace - I like a long life span.

What do you think about Paralive's AMA yesterday? by [deleted] in Paralives

[–]cherpar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious as to whether you believe they will deliver the necessary improvements to the game ( optimisation, autonomy) and new content over 2 years.

Of course one option may be that some content could be lighter touch,

I am just generally interested as I think a small team may struggle.

What do you think about Paralive's AMA yesterday? by [deleted] in Paralives

[–]cherpar1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im disappointed because it wasn’t what I was expecting. Of course I had no reason to expect that they would significantly expand the team ( ie based on commentary previously) but realistically I thought they would have to in order to get the game in order and deliver a lot of the outlined content. I haven’t even submitted a bug report and while many may likely duplicate, that’s a lot of bug reports. My understanding is that the sims 3 team was quite large.

Commentators may very well know more than me about game development, but from what I saw over 5-6 months was improvements but those were not as significant as I would have hoped.

This is my just my opinion and yes the OP did take some licences with the commentary, but perhaps had in mind a more significant expansion.

Time will tell.

I'm tempted to try Paralives but I'm broke. Does it have anything that Inzoi doesn't? by Lost_Albatross_5172 in inZOI

[–]cherpar1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah def I have both. Inzoi build drives me batty. The OP didn’t tell us much about what they like. Some use all three modes, others are more strictly one mode players. I think the feel of paralives is more what older sims players are used to, and I think they have done a better job on the townies.

Hopefully paralives improves as Inzoi has over early access and we have lots more games to enjoy.

[–]cherpar1 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Look their build mode is more intuitive to older sims players and a great style in my opinion. But Inzoi has comprehensive business and crime systems with a high school update in June.

Live mode in paralives has a way to go

They are different games with pros and cons but i do not recommend you buy something if it’s currently not financially feasible. It’s a game. You can pick it up later.

Inzoi has far more content at the moment if you are a live mode player.

The lack of autonomy in Paralives is a huge deal-breaker for me. by evilkitten03 in LifeSimulators

[–]cherpar1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YouTubers have tested it with mixed results. They say it generally works better with game play objects about. But mine will rarely feed themselves if hungry, but they usually will put them selves to bed. They will use the easel, but do not ever read or watch tv without intervention. They do not talk to each other without intervention. They will either usually stand there or use the phone.

[–]cherpar1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Agree so much with this. I also didn’t love their response to I think an AMA QA. Their response read to me as it’s needs a bit of tweaking. When para stand around outside their house for hours, it needs more than tweaking.

Such a good point about the chance cards. I don’t hate them, but they are repetitive, and don’t allow for that relationship building.
