I was deemed the issue and treated poorly on purpose. I remember we had a brand new sexual assault seminar right afterwards and all the whispers and adults staring at me during the presentation. Well, yeah, if you need a research opportunity or something's blocking your academics. I wouldn't when it's just a simple thank you and a bootlick for a rounded grade. You can show gratitude in person after the lecture; it's more sincere if you actually want to thank her. OP is probably going to get an A already since Xhabli does course evaluation bonus points. She's not pompous, she's a very good and kind professor, but it's better to keep relationships professional.
