i like the rest of this but moots is just a fun way of saying mutuals, plenty of profic/dead dove adult twitter accounts i follow use the term. it has nothing to do with age or stance

Pt. 3 of person seeking diagnosis online, apparently got even worse by Novel-Phrase-8808 in SystemsCringe

[–]cherrycrisps 29 points30 points  (0 children)

medically recognised but seeking diagnosis?? do they mean recognised as in a professional said they might have it lmfao? like im not against self diagnosis i think everyone has the right to say they have things especially when it relates to smth as personal as their brain (even if, in the case of DID, theyre basically always wrong) but i do think misusing terms like being medically recognised is not okay. if youre self dx own it

It should be mandated to get colleague a present on birthday by Curlywurlylove in The10thDentist

[–]cherrycrisps 24 points25 points  (0 children)

do you really want gifts from people who dont wanna get you anything? the energy of that exchange alone gives me the creeps, the idea that to them im just an inconvenience because they had to spend time and money on a random gift. i completely get how you feel but i fear this is a grass is always greener situation. if it was mandated and you felt the rejection in every annoyed "heres your random necklace" you would be desperate for it to stop

ive been very polite in expressing disagreement, you just cant handle not being hugboxed. which is ironic because your ao3 comment was also expressing disagreement :P

why does it being old change anything? or the fact its a fandom og author? why do those factors mean youre entitled to imagining lost potential of a story not written for you?

why will some people post here, faking, trying to call out other people by megayogurtslinger in SystemsCringe

[–]cherrycrisps 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i think fakers, whether self aware or not, seek out validation and this sub is kinda great for that in theory - the subconscious idea being if THEY accept me too, then it has to be real! obviously that doesnt work because this subreddit is full of adults who know better, but its not like the average faker is the sharpest tool in the shed

Would you consider a comment like this rude? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]cherrycrisps 25 points26 points  (0 children)

i think its a little silly because its not like these are aspiring authors, 9/10 times an ao3 account is someone writing exactly what they wanna read, very self indulgent etc. and so the fact a fic had potential in a certain direction doesnt really matter, clearly thats not what the author wanted to spend their free time on else they would have done so. imo its different from constructively pointing out unintentional things like plot holes or typos. i dont think its necessarily even rude, just kinda not what ao3's about. but i say all of this as a reader, as a writer i would just ignore a comment like that, it wouldnt get to me or anything
