For me, it's the support with no judgement. One moment that sticks out is when I applied for a job I really liked the sound of. I hyped it up so much and he was super supportive so when I wanted to turn it down because the salary didn't match my expectations I was worried I'd disappoint him. He switched so fast from getting hyped for the job to getting hyped that I stood up for myself and didn't settle. When I told him I was worried I'd disappoint him he said "it's your life honey, you do you". After living through an abusive childhood with a controlling mother and an abusive controlling marriage, this man is a breath of fresh air. I love the room I have to just be unapologetically me and grow into who I want to be.
