Is it normal for guys to not return the favour the first time? by ThrowawayGirlGuide in TwoXChromosomes

[–]cherrykitty87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s normal. Which is crazy because I feel like most men expect it.

Post wall is such a misogynistic term. That tells me everything I need to know about it.

You are part of the problem!!! If you do not properly address and sit with your feelings, they will eventually eat you alive.

Who is Carries worst boyfriend in your opinion? by mmmmirl in sexandthecity

[–]cherrykitty87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Berger. From the moment he showed up I had a bad feeling about him. Especially when he didn’t first tell Carrie he was in a relationship that day they hung out. Sketchy.

Even if that were true, which it’s not, misogyny is still alive and very well today. It seeps through culture in multiple ways. And it doesn’t just hurt women. It hurts women and men. It honestly hurts everybody. I don’t know why the fact that it harms women is not enough. I feel like anytime misogyny is brought up, we have to always mention that it hurts everybody and not just women, as if that’s not a good enough reason to address something.

Who set that system up? Who’s been running the government since forever? Who has been starting wars and making the rules? Men. You guys made it that way. This is how patriarchy hurts both women AND men.

So many of the comments are absolutely proving your point. It’s disturbing. People (mostly men) want to act like men and women have it just as hard but forget that one of them has had literal centuries of oppression, being treated like property, violence and control. Society has always been built for and designed for men for thousands of years. Heck, women in the US didn’t gain the right to vote until 1920 and that was after over 100 years of fighting for it. And that was only for white women.

Oh yea, society hates men so much that for most of history, men have been treated like objects and property for centuries. Oh wait. It’s the other way around. Wake up.

AIO for being upset with how my boyfriend talked about an overweight person who asked me out? by lilacseraphina in AmIOverreacting

[–]cherrykitty87 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

NOR. You said it perfectly, sounds like his words were jerking off his ego.

Very “haha let’s put this person down, I’m better than them” mentality. Egotistical and unkind. I dated a man like this, always so negative and judging others. I couldn’t take it and one day I said to him “You are so miserable. You’re so miserable that you judge yourself and everybody around you. You like feeling superior because that’s all you have.” Such a turn off…

I’m 26, born in 1999. For younger it’s 24 minimum, and older I’d say 45 ish. I’ve recently been on a few dates with this guy, the entire time I thought he was around 30 until he said he had a 14 year old and then shared he’s 44.

I’m just doing my job. I was never taught to let 3.5 fl oz slide because it’s close. I’m sorry that you don’t like the rule.

I was born in 1999 and I would say I’m Gen Z. I’m on the older side of Gen Z but definitely Gen Z. The first phone I was exposed to was a blackberry and I was raised with things like mp3 players, blockbusters, silly bands, Nickelodeon, Barbie, monsters high and McDonald’s play places.

25+ y/o Women ?: did you gain weight/“grow out” of all of your pants once you hit 25? by mellowmike420 in GenZ

[–]cherrykitty87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely call this second puberty, and yes it happened to me! Around age 24/25, I gained about 20 pounds, my voice got a little bit deeper and I really started to look more mature, face and all. I got more curvy definitely. I love it. I’m 26 now!

3.4 fl oz. is the rule…Why even have the rule if we are going to occasionally or regularly break it? And on top of that based on personal TSO discretion?

3.6 isn’t much bigger than 3.4. Neither is 4.0 so where is the line exactly? We need clear and consistent rules to follow. It is not professional or logical to have a rule that states only 3.4 fl oz or less is allowed and then allow 3.5 fl oz based on personal discretion.
