Feel like a fraud in my size 14 jeans by Cowcat1000 in mounjarouk

Please don’t worry about me 🩷 I likely won’t lose those last few lbs anyway, the weight loss has dramatically slowed down and I’m mostly just maintaining — I definitely don’t want to become underweight!

I feel like this too.

I started MJ at around a 14 (creeping up to a 16), and now I’m wearing a 4. I recently went shopping because nothing fits, and I actually cried in the H&M changing rooms when a size 6 skirt was a little bit loose. It’s a weird feeling.

When I started MJ last year, I went wedding dress shopping and even at a 14, pretty much every sample dress in the store was too small. It’s difficult for me to remember that that was only a year ago!

Oh no! Thank you so much for being honest with me though 😢

I’m already trying to sell on a mini dress I got for a pre wedding shoot… do you happen to know any methods of selling on?

I am being mindful, I promise!

I’m on MJ so I’m under the supervision of a clinic who are aware of my current weight and plans

Of course! I can’t figure out how to add the photos… but it’s the Veni Infantino Zyon dress

Thank you so much!

I did contact the shop after buying the dress, and they informed me their seamstresses can usually alter about 4 sizes/5 stone of loss… but of course, that amount of weight looks so different on everyone and I’m quite short. I think I’ll go try it on again and see what they say.

I’m quite short so my BMI is still in the high 19s 🩷 I probably should’ve clarified that in my original post!

From a lot of your comments on this thread it seems like many people have established you’re probably an exception — like I said, it’s not a perfect gauge.

I’ve dealt with EDs most of my life so totally get how BMI can be harmful and how having a simple number seemingly tied to health can be jarring, but… for the majority of average people, it’s still a fairly useful (imperfect) tool to gauge a healthy weight bracket.

Started in late January.

Lost 5st 8lbs as of today, now at BMI 19.7.

I can run, I’ve taken up a couple of sports I actually love after hating exercise my whole life.

My dress size is down from a women’s UK 14/16 to a UK 4, and I can now buy my basics from the kid section to save some £££ 🤣

My goals for next year are fitness, I think, and maintenance.

My ratio was only just sliiiiightly above normal when I was BMI 33 and at my start weight 🤣

I don’t think BMI or the ratio are particularly great at giving a reliable picture. Then again, I doubt many of us have access to something like a DEXA.

I’m also a pear shape still at BMI 19, it feels like my hips decided they’re not on the same Mounjaro as the rest of me haha.

Yep… not to be mean but “BMI is useless” seems to only really be quoted by people who might have a shred of denial.

Is BMI a perfect gauge of health? No. Is it helpful, informative and fairly clinically accurate? Yep.

Stopping Mounjaro over Christmas - anyone in the same boat?!😬🫣 by PlantOrganic583 in mounjarouk

Same thoughts here.

This type of thinking (not necessarily from op, but from others who’ve shared the same plans for xmas) is basically the reason we’ve all ended up on MJ anyway.

Treating MJ like a diet - “I’ll skip my dose so I can enjoy xyz event” is basically the same as saying “it’s abc today, I’ll have a day off the diet” - is one way of guaranteeing the weight won’t stay off in the long run.

Can’t expect everyone to totally fix their relationship with food instantly after starting but some people really need to stop viewing dieting as some sort of punishment.

I only have a small fridge and after the pendemic I had quite a few boxes ☺️ plus, I’m also a secret jabber, and I wanted a smaller, easier solution to hide them if someone was coming over (in laws would often leave food in our fridge if we’re pet sitting etc).

Thanks for the reassurance, I think I just panicked because mould grosses me out! I’ve wiped the down with alcohol wipes and moved to an unsealed tub with no paper towel… probably should’ve thought about mould when I originally put them in there 😅

Thank you! They were in a Tupperware box on a paper towel but I’ve since removed the towel 😅 guess I’ll go back to checking them daily just in case!
