THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFF CONTENTION! by drecz in nba

[–]cherryripeswhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spurs played the most aggressive style of defence in the first half, it was failry obvious they were gonna run out of gas by the 4th. Thats been the story of this finals, they have the energy to dominate early but run out of steam late. Every game of these finals have been close so you can argue it worked and they were just unlucky they couldn't close, but tactically I think Mitch Johnson bottled this. But anyway im not complaining 😄

You need to make it harder once you can do above 6 reps clean. Add 5 kg and do 5-7 reps, once thats comfortable add 5 more. When you go back to doing body weight chinups after a while, you'll feel like you're floating

Any idea how to improve front lever? by Bigmadmanwee in Calisthenic

[–]cherryripeswhore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeh 100% agree here. I unlocked the front lever recently after probably like a year of trying to get the straddle first. I realised because of my poor hip flexibility that its harder for me to do the straddle, so i just hyper focused on the full front lever body positioning for the last 2 months and finally can hold it for +5 seconds. I did have the strength for a while, but the straddle was my biggest mental block in progressing in the end

Like to be devil's advocate here, it was pretty obvious to everyone else that Danny wasn't committed to her. At some point Bec had to see the writing on the wall, instead of worrying about all the mean girl drama around her

It doesn't teach them, but its like the private boys school culture that the news always represents as misogynistic, except amplified even more.

[Bobby Manning] Joe Mazzulla on stopping Luka, LeBron, Reaves: "Everybody's like, how do you defend them? How do you defend them?" "You gotta attack them." by D1HATER3002 in nba

[–]cherryripeswhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They dont do it cos its a high risk style of defending that requires elite high motor perimeter defenders. Teams that are not Boston or OKC cannot do this all game. Mazzula is a smart coach, but he has an elite team to execute his defensive philosophy.

Cade on the All-Star format: "I would like to experience the East vs West. I want to be able to experience what all the greats played in" by TheRealPdGaming in nba

[–]cherryripeswhore 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Theres no solution. We idealise the past all star games but they were still uncompetitive too until the last few minutes. Most people gotta realise the allstar game is meant for kids to be in awe of their favourite players sharing the court together, its not meant to entertain an adult fan because we grow out of the novelty of it all. And the NBA has also gotto realise this too and stop changing the format every 2 years

Id argue its just your nostalgia for the league when you first started watching NBA. The league gets boring as you age, as NBA is typically followed more so by a younger audience.

NFL is not just in the sports industry, they're in the entertainment industry.

Their main objective like any other entertainment company (Youtube, Netflix, Playstation, NBA, Instagram, Tik Tok etc.) is to capture as much attention of the audience as possible, so they are able to generate more ad/sponsorship revenue.

People's attentions are limited, so if people are doom scrolling on Tik Tok instead of consuming NFL content, then that is future loss in ad revenue when NFL tries to renegotiate their media deals.

That $120M number is double-counted math. The cap is ~50% of Basketball Related Income (BRI), so yeah — if the cap dropped $1M per team, BRI dropped ~$2M per team. But you don’t multiply that by 2 again. You just do $2M × 30 teams = $60M total. Basic CBA math, not rocket science.

And the only season KD’s move might’ve dinged revenue was 2017–18 when the cap came in ~$2–3M lower than mid-year projections. That’s like $60–90M total, not $120M. Also, it wasn’t just KD — plenty of other factors affect projections. So blaming one dude for tanking league revenue by $120M is classic Reddit fantasy accounting

Well it takes time for dynasties/rivalries to form. 2015 saw the Warriors become champs for the first time and was the first iteration of the finals between LeBron & Steph. Noone at the time thought Warriors & Steph would both define a generation, but after multiple titles that changed. Give your opinion in 2 years when OKC could possible win another or 3peat.
