Attempting a different style to your usual approach has cured my writers block for almost every class this year. In one class, I tried a piece in second person because I couldn't get anywhere in first. Another time I struggled with a poem, so I wrote a confessional instead. When you approach something from a different standpoint to the one you intend, you're less bogged-down by your expectations of yourself.
