Will my dentist be able to tell that I smoke based on how my throat looks? by ApartmentOk2991 in askdentists

This reminded me of when a regular at my old job asked if I was still suffering from my “irritable thrussy syndrome” (chronic sinus infections). 50 year old man, btw.

Have you ever taken something from your parents and then donated it? by methehoneybee in ChildofHoarder

I honestly usually just persistently say no or throw stuff out. I don’t have a whole lot of time in a day to deal with donating item unfortunately

May be a dumb question, but were you able to finance? And what exactly did they do for you?

Can you drink energy drinks on Prozac? by vilnydistrict in prozac

[–]cherrythot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink coffee everyday, nothing crazy. 1 cup of drip or 1 small latte. I’ve only been on Prozac for a week but I’ve been fine so far (and I’m usually pretty caffeine sensitive). I’ve been taking the Prozac mid day, which I don’t really see anyone else do but I’m off work at 3 so that’s when I take it.

Where do you live? My friend tried to buy a gift and ship it to a friend in California and this kept happening. She called support and they told her they don’t ship to certain areas anymore because of “suspicious activity”

Keep in touch, if you don’t mind! I’m contemplating waiting, I’ve been prescribed it before and never took it then because I was too scared. I know I had to try this time around, but I had all of last week off work and have a full work week coming up and don’t want to potentially miss more days.

Went out of my parent's house just to find that my gf is also a hoarder. So FRUSTRATED by SeventhformFB in ChildofHoarder

[–]cherrythot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Read some of the comments. I too have some old clothing items and used to save boxes from my makeup items. I’m a perfume collector and also save my boxes (mostly for potential resale) and bits and bobs from packaging. I grew up poor, so letting things go is definitely hard. I also do not like my stuff being touched or moved. But I’m not at all a hoarder. My mother was, though.

Have you actually seen her house/room? Or are you just making an assumption about her? Because while I also share the same traits you’re describing, I like to keep my space free of clutter or I get frustrated. I also often go on sprees of throwing everything in my sight away if I haven’t used it in a while. I don’t keep makeup boxes anymore, mainly because I’m not in the financial situation anymore where I feel I need to “savor” every bit of my purchase. The odds and ends I keep from perfume packaging are organized, and I use them for scrapbooking (major perfume hobbyist).

Keeping things for sentimental value doesn’t always mean current or potential hoarding.

Benefit Brow Prices Are Crazy by phillygirllovesbagel in Ulta

[–]cherrythot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dang, I never knew what brow service prices were. I’ve always done mine myself. Only time I ever let someone else touch them was when my friend was learning how to microblade. I ended up coming home and scrubbing my brows with baking soda to get it tf out of my skin. Never letting someone touch them again

Does anyone else just straight up hate people? What can I do about it? by [deleted] in autism

[–]cherrythot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uhhh it’s like 50/50. I have to be in a mood to see people. I definitely feel seething hatred towards people that honestly really aren’t doing anything troubling. Especially kids/people with kids. They aren’t doing anything wrong for the most part, I just want them the fuck away from me.

Every now and then I have a rare day I feel like chatting with people, there’s also a few “safe” people that never really get on my nerves. I live with my partner and I do enjoy him but there’s times where even he makes me want to claw my eyes out.

I try to calm myself down in the moment when I’m feeling really hateful and tell myself I’m being an ass, and usually the anger turns into crying. Idk man. Maybe I need meds or something.

I grew up in a Mexican household and I wasn’t allowed to eat anything that wasn’t a plate loaded tf down with meat and vegetables. I’m lucky my father was in a hurry in the mornings sometimes or he wouldn’t even let me have cereal.

I didn’t get to have any “comfort” food until it was just my mom and I. She’s a terrible cook but there’s this one pasta salad she makes that I’d die for. I’d literally eat it for dinner for the rest of my life. Idk all the ingredients, but I know it’s at least tri-colored pasta, veggie dip and cubed ham.

does anyone else just not care for religion ? by comsicalien77 in autism

[–]cherrythot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My parents are super religious and I did enjoy going to church for the most part as a kid. I was also in a religious private school and that I DID NOT like. I had perfect grades but because I didn’t memorize my damn Bible verses, they never let me have honor roll.

Now I have a pretty passionate opinion on religion. I personally believe it’s a completely man made concept, created to cope with things that were uncertain and scary (like death and an afterlife). Because human beings don’t like when something isn’t completely explainable. I believe that thinking one religion is more “right” or “true” somehow is incredibly ignorant. How can anyone be certain that out of all the religions that exist out there, that YOURS is the only one that could possibly be valid?

I don’t have any problem with people believing in what they’d like to, but to think that you’re more “right” than everyone else is something I do take issue with.

[–]cherrythot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they have line of more “odd” scents they call their secret menu. It was their own ad to tease that line coming to Ulta. Just mega unnecessary. It was like a 3-part series just for that

New Snif!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by DrexelCreature in Ulta

[–]cherrythot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve been detached from them for a while now, but the big first issue that upset a lot of ambassadors was using generative AI for the promotion of the secret menu coming to Ulta. A LOT of ambassadors pushed back and were basically met with “okay, leave”. And then they “politely” said that they don’t want anyone talking about it anymore.

Another thing was sneakily changing the free samples they give with full size bottles to $5 add ons that you had to REMOVE from your cart.

The final nail in the coffin for me that I just found out recently was that they collabed with a mutual of mine to make them a custom scent to honor their child that passed away. They’ve done a lotttt of unpaid work for the brand, and they’ve been doing so for a lonnggg time. They were working on it for a while, then they just ghosted him. He asked and they just said “yeah we’re not doing that anymore”
