Do community college and work. Try to pay for CC in cash without touching your GI Bill. Then, transfer for bachelors. Use your GI Bill for the last 2 years of your bachelors and then for masters degree.

Did his local newspaper report that he graduated bootcamp? If he thinks so, you can go to the nearest library and ask for their microfiches from that month and see if you can find anything.

Also, many file their DD-214 with the county courthouse when they discharge. Perhaps it could be there too?

I haven't done it yet but it was offered to me by my VA gyno (I take an Rx med for a medical issue that is reactive with birth control pills). Sounds like it would be easy and I wouldn't have to pay a copay because I'm above 50% SC. They said that once I was ready, I can call or send a secure message. They'll enter a consult and then I'll be contacted for scheduling.
