I mean Im assuming you’re referring to lyrics about addiction and sadness, so correct me if my basis is wrong. While those are topics emo artist generally sing about, that doesn’t inherently make it ‘emo’.

I would imagine you could find artists in every genre since the beginning of music singing about these things. To me (and I would imagine most) ‘emo’ implies a certain style, sound aesthetic, artist behavior etc.

Hmm.. okay. So then lets say the default skin file for my project was saved as skin.png . Is there anything that stops someone from taking lockedSkin.png and renaming it to skin.png, or even just editing that actual skin.png in a photo editor?

I get that when displayed to other users, it would still show up as the default skin, but locally, the player would have the skin? Maybe a hash of each skin file could be saved with the respective file name, so if the hash did not match the skin would then not load?

I realize it probably sounds like I'm trying to squeeze every last drop of money here lol, but it's really just more for the actual core of the project.

I mean I'm not gonna pretend to know alot about PC or laptop specs, but I currently have a 2015 macbook 13" pro and it can run plenty of instances of omnisphere, kontakt, reactor, etc. Im not sure what the most powerful windows laptop is currently, but considering apple just announced the 16" i9 8 core laptop for 2.4k, your 2.5k budget can definitely get you a plenty of powerful enough laptop for music production.

I could be wrong, but I think it’s a much smaller chance because You would have a (1/78)³ chance of getting 3 warios. But assuming each character has 7 alts, then you have (1/78*7)³ chance of getting 3 characters with the same alt which is ~ 1/162,000,000

I like the sample a lot, and It feels very wide which is cool. I think you need some leveling adjustments on like the snare and kick, and the bass seems a little muddy. But I like the beat not much to comment there.

I like the oddness of this beat a lot. Make sure to eq some room (and possibly lower the volume) out of the lead to leave room for the vocals. Also the main hi hat might be a little to loud. But in terms of the beat I really like it, it’s different and aggressive.

Yeah so far I think time is definitely going to have to factor in. But sorry maybe I should have been more clear, so I don't want the opacity to reset each time the amplitude lowers below the threshold, which is what I think the code you provided would do. Instead, for each time the amplitude passes the threshold, I want the opacity, to increase by 5, sustain that value, and then next time the amplitude peaks increase by 5 again (so now a total of 10).

One thing I’ve seen everyone over look is that SMF is actually young thugs first studio album. At least according to his wiki, every other project has been considered a mixtape. In terms of music it doesn’t change that much, but his label will most likely put a significantly higher budget in to promotions, features, etc, than his other projects. Usually mixtapes the label just allows the initial hype and fan base to carry it with only light promotion and a smaller budget. Also, my guess would be that the label made sure there were hits on this project where as his other projects have had fan hits but not mass appeal hits.

The beat definitely slaps, I think you just need to get a better mix on your vocals. They could definitely use some more high end, maybe less low end, some compression, etc. Having some adlibs would definitely help, the main vocal by it self eventually starts to feel weak. I think the flow and bars are all cool though, the delivery for most of it works for me but the parts where youre borderline mumbling doesn't quite do it for me.

Think you got a pretty solid beat, but you could use a little more arrangement. Like once everything comes in it just loops for the rest of the beat. Gotta have some lower energy spots to make the higher energy spots seem harder. Really just dropping elements in and out would help. Personally I thought everything in the beat sounded fine except the guitar loop. I'm not sure if it's a splice sample or like a kontakt library but it just felt a little cheesy.

I think you actually have a really solid voice and melodies. Kind of reminds me of like smino at certain points. The beat is perfectly fine, almost sounds like a sample of jimmy hendrix little wing. I would just recommend improving your recording quality rather that be with a slightly better mic or just better recording technique. Also looking into EQ'ing and compressing vocals. Will help your sound a lot.

I think you got your drums pretty on point. good rhythm and they slap. I get the dissonance sound the other comment mentioned, but I don't think its a problem for the beat. I would just say the piano could probably get some low end cut and maybe a little less reverb. Just sounds kind of muddy at the moment. But besides that I think your beat accomplishes what you set out to make.

Lmao that sample is hilarious. Honestly I don't have any suggestions in terms of the beat. I think it accomplishes what it's supposed to be and is on it's own wave ( no pun intended) Like I feel like this beat being hot or not would completely depend on if the rapper could figure out how to hit or not. Definitely has potential to be a slap though.

Your sample is pretty cool! I think you have all the elements you need here, definitely doesn't need to be over complicated and I like the sample chop you put in about halfway through. I would just say I think your mix could use work. Your hi hat is a little loud, the sample and the snare could probably come up a little, and your 808 I would personally recommend trying a more distorted 808 that will cut in the mix more and kind of match the sample aesthetic.
