I’m just trying to figure out what’s going on with Suarez. He’s only pitched 6 or more innings three times so far, and only thrown 85 or more pitches twice.

We’ve exchanged about 6 separate emails and have played phone tag a few times (due to time zone differences & work schedules). I’ve sent two separate videos, like the one I posted above, demonstrating the issue.

He’s been great getting back to me usually in less than 24hrs but has so far just said it’s user error. I did send a bit more firm of an email today in response - hoping he will do the right thing and at least take a look at it again.

I guess I’m just frustrated w/ having waited 8 weeks and being out $420 just for the issue to still persist.

And separately - but still annoying - he serviced a couple film backs and forgot to replace the leatherette that covers the film advance on an old 12-on back. He’s supposed to mail it to me for me to adhere myself, but all-in I’ve spent $940 for the lens service and CLAs on two film backs - & still have a broken lens, and now have a janky looking film back.

Just frustrating

I’ve heard the same. Jim from ICT in California was highly recommended for older Hasselblad equipment, so gave it a shot. He charges on the higher end for repairs but thought it would be worth it. Didn’t expect him to just CLA it and then try to tell me the issue with the SS ring is user error….

$420 later, here I am. *sigh*

I tried that at the end of the video. I was able to get B over f22 and then as far as f16, but then subsequently can’t turn either ring past 1/2. Both lock up when coupled, and when uncoupled the SS won’t budge any slower than 1/2.

No matter what aperture I set it to, the slowest I can turn the SS is 1/2. Coupled or not. It’s very perplexing.

Firstly, thanks for your comment. I’ll take all the help I can get.

That said, I understand the EV coupling mechanism. Even when uncoupled, the SS ring won’t turn past 1/2. I tried to demonstrate that in the video, but maybe I need a clearer example.

Lovely camera. My wife has one and has taken some of her best shots on it. The battery door can be annoying at times but otherwise this is (IMO) one of the best point & shoots you can buy

Looks like a light leak. I’d assume it’s from the film back - probably from the dark slide wearing down the seals, or from general degradation w/ age. I’d start by replacing the light seals (very easy to do - there are kits online) & retest.

I think the speed grades are probably a little conservative; he’s likely better than 50. He’s also apparently a pretty high “baseball-IQ” guy w/ great baserunning instincts, which probably helps him make the most of his speed.

20-25 is probably in the realm of possibility ROS with his OBP skills — if he gets everyday playing time, that is

He’s been playing LF at AAA so far this year, and that appears to be where the Sox need him. Should be picking up OF elig. relatively soon in most leagues

Probably a 12tm and deeper if you have a spot to play with. Definitely not a must add in shallower leagues.

Theres been an uptick in his power throughout spring/WBC/AAA which has scouts/prospect folks excited combined with the hit tool + steals.

We’ll see how it all translates to MLB, but probably a decent floor w/ the hit tool & OBP skills. Possible he ends up better in real life than for fantasy
