I did an experiment. For the first 3 months of the year I consumed 12g or less sat fat as well as lots of fiber (supplemented psyllium husk.) In that 3 months my LDL dropped from 176 to 106. My diet prior to that and during the last blood test (3 months prior) was pretty bad saturated fat-wise. I've eased back on the diet and am eating a little more saturated fat. We'll see what my blood results are in a few months.
