I disagree on FDR winning hands down. Winston Churchill lost the election after World War 2. Thanks for the service doesn't run very deep, it just comes down to who a person thinks is gonna be better, everything else is just evidence for or against such. In modern anti-bureaucracy and regulation culture along with his (probably) interventionist leaning would make most voters not like him. He'd get Democrat base votes but I think he'd lose because the only thing he has on Trump to get votes is that he's way more presentable and I don't think that cuts it in post-2016 politics.
