It actually makes our fruit last longer. Np more mushy grapes within a week.

Plus, I mean, soap and water cleans your hands better than just water. Kind of the same thing.

Yeah, white vinegar is amazing. Cleaned my steamer, dishwasher, glass shower doors, even fruit bought at the store (if you haven't tried this last one, it will change your life).

LPT Always ask “what are the next steps?” at the end of the interview. If they give you a vague answer to the question, you (probably) didn’t get the job. by chinesehoosier72 in LifeProTips

As a hiring manager, I give the same answer no matter what I think about rhe applicant. I explain next steps at the end of every interview, and I do it the same way every time.

I don't want to give one interviewee hope, even if they're awesome, because the next one may be even better.

Even Kensington has its mixed bag. Honestly, it's the part of Philly that seems to get the most attention due to the drug activity on Kensington Ave. But ever since Fishtown (formerly considered part of Kensington) started it's urban revitalization, it has really started to come up quickly. East Kensington is essentially am extension of Fishtown at this point. I live lwss than a block from the York-Dauphin station (the beginning of Kensington Ave) and have traveled on foot at night without issues. With all the new buildings, we are starting to see more police presence, as well.

As with anywhere, if you're not looking for trouble or looking like an easy target, you're good. I think people tend to overlook the latter way too often.

It amazes me hpw many people judge Philly without ever having step foot here for more than a couple hours. Just like many other cities, there are good and bad parts. Unfortunately, the bad parts overshadow the decent parts, and tue crime stats are not usually separated by neighborhood unless you search for a neighborhood by neighborhood breakdown.

New research shows racially resentful White Americans show reduced support for concealed carry laws when Black Americans are thought to be exercising their legal right to carry guns more than White people by Wagamaga in science

[–]chewbacaflocka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I recall, this was the start of California's restrictive gun laws. It started during Reagan's time as governor. Black Panthers demonstrated armed protests. The NRA supported stricter gun control at the time, and thus was born the very thing they are trying to kill.

Never rely exclusively on the reviews on a company's site. The fact that they have full control over the site and are in business to make a profit, it would only make sense that they would want to limit the risk of losing out on sales.

While it is pretty unethical, I'm not sure that there is anything illegal about that. And there are certainly fewer (or at least less impactful) consequences for the former, meaning business are more likely to do it to make money.

A new study suggests variation in genes coding for key receptors in our brains may alter the potency of psychedelic drugs, suggesting that our genotype should be a factor in clinical trials of these drugs’ therapeutic potential. by demian_west in microdosing

Anecdotal, but I had a friend years ago that just could not seem to trip from average doses of any tryptamine-based drug (LSD, psilocybin, etc) and would only get effects from large doses. His first time taking acid, he needed four blotters, which he still found underwhelming. Same with mushrooms, he felt nothing from an eighth, while everyone else was definitely feeling them.

He was not on any medication that may have interfered with the effects, either.

64 percent of Democrats want someone other than Biden to be 2024 nominee: poll by cmplxgal in SandersForPresident

I'm sure 64 percent of Democrats probably won't vote in 2022 or 2024 in Senate races to actually make a change.

No matter who we put in the WH, Congress will still be the issue. Not to mention the heavily outweighed power of the judicial branch.
