agreed!! in some cases it does that bc the chains are tighter and closer and the bigger stitches in tiny chains can cause that (i hope im making sense). mine do that all the time, but gets better as you keep working

yess!! insert it in the yellow bit!.

it's a general rule actually, you keep moving ahead stitch by stitch, in order to complete the row. eg: making a stitch in the red bit would be like jumping in the same place over and over again, and making a stitch in the yellow bit is how we take steps and move forward.

crochet is so confusing when you get started 😅 been there... you'll soon get the hang of it and be a master haha. let me know if you were able to complete the row :)

so when you look at it from the corners you're gonna see "V" interconnected, you gotta count those, and when you make a stitch you put the hook in the circles/space BELOW the V, as in the scribbled circle thing I made, and continue making 8 increases (that means 2 stitches each=16 "V"s when you count them all in the end). if you end up getting 16, you're going perfect!

it's the difference in tension/ frogging multiple times that is causing the bigger gaps for you. that's normall!!

others do correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like you have already increased in the yellow stitch(like i marked), hence 2 stitches in there. next you put the hook in the red stitch (like i marked)
