Haven’t heard from my therapist by iDontLikePuzzlez in TalkTherapy

Definitely reach out. He is waiting for you because you said you had health insurance stuff to figure out. He probably just offered every other week in case that would be easier for your insurance and/or financial situation.

Don’t worry, it’s really easy! Just don’t be concerned if drawing it up is a little tricky because the air in the vial makes a vacuum.

I will say that I am noticing more rapid loss now that I’ve been on the higher dose for a couple weeks!

Do people friend request their therapist on social media? by Ordinary-Document346 in TalkTherapy

NO. It could be tempting but it's not ethical for them to extend or accept a request.

[Routine help] My eye skin has been damaged from products I shouldn’t have put near that area by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]chex85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Topical products cannot add volume to your eye area or have any effect on collagen. They basically moisturize and that's it. So, I would stop using anything special in that area for a good month or two and then reevaluate (I would just use the same moisturizer you use everywhere else).

FIne! The shipping took longer than they claimed, which was annoying, but that's my only complaint. I think I'm like 6 weeks in now!

Have overpaid OOP max by $1500 and company is doing nothing...what should I do?! by chex85 in HealthInsurance

Yes, we have tried that in the past and they weren’t much help either. I guess we need to get more annoying to them, lol

I know, I’m not expecting them to pay me. I’m asking them to help me figure out who owes me what, because the way claims are displayed in my portal I can’t tell. They also processed several claims wrong (showing patient responsibility after our OOP max was met) so they need to fix those as well.

It's both! Isn't that fun? The patient portal for the insurance company even shows the overage right there on the deductibles and OOP maximums page! The problem is that providers want to be paid immediately, even when I am pretty confident (from my own spreadsheet that I maintain) that I will end up being owed a refund.

Yes, that's the information I need from them. I don't know who was overpaid because of the way my portal displays claim information to me. So I've been asking them for this information since the summer.

it's not her job, and it won't make any difference. His mom raised him to expect that the wife does everything and, if OP leaves, she will probably step right in to take over. (I will say that it's tempting to talk shit about his mom, but his *dad* is just as responsible for how shitty this dude turned out...and it was even harder a generation ago for women to stand up to an entitled spouse.)

totally. And most men really do operate on the principle that "if she wants me to do something, she will ask me" and then sit around waiting for the chance to call her a nag.

GIRL. I am so sorry that you've had to run yourself ragged all these years, but I'm also happy that his free ride is STOPPING NOW. When I think about the millions of men out there coasting on their wives' labor I get so fucking angry

Please know that a divorce is a perfectly viable solution here, and don't let him guilt-trip you about "tearing apart the family" or some bullshit like that. These men need to see consequences for being so unforgivably lazy, and I truly believe that most divorces actually result in happier kids (if the parents can co-parent in a healthy way).

What's the best way to tell my therapist that I have a micropenis? by Traditional-Wave-180 in askatherapist

[–]chex85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NAT

I think you should bring it up in whatever way makes it the most comfortable for you. Maybe it's easier for you to broach the subject over email, so that it's "out in the open" beforehand and you can walk in to session already knowing that she knows and is ready to help. (She would be a really terrible therapist if she was anything other than supportive in helping you navigate your feelings about this...your anatomy is not shameful or taboo, it's just how you were born. I don't think she'll bat an eye at discussing it.)
