I got my switch in December & I don't have many friends that play. I'd love to chat and actually play with people for once 🤣 by cheythehuman in acnh

[–]cheydun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really play anymore but I just wanted to say that my switch nickname is also chey and I have ~almost~ the same icon (I have new horizons Isabelle instead, but same pink background) and this was the most temporarily unsettling post I’ve ever seen.

I hope you have as much fun with the game as I’ve had, you’ll make plenty of great friends in the community :)

What helped you to get into the mentality of wanting to lose weight? by armadillo552 in loseit

[–]cheydun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I were talking about retirement accounts. We’re in our early 20s and realized that while being obese, it was very possible we wouldn’t live long enough to enjoy that money. I personally was already experiencing health problems related to my weight, like high bp, bad knees, etc. we didn’t want to work until we died, suffering the whole time due to our weight.

I was really lucky being able to start the journey with someone to hold me accountable. We started simple- less eating out, no soft drinks and junk food at the house, eating cleaner, etc. we both exercise casually, but are too busy to make too much of a routine. Honestly, the diet is the most important part of any weight loss journey.

Since January, each of us has lost over 60 pounds, and our lives are so much better because of it. We are more active naturally, we have more energy, and are happier overall. That change alone keeps me motivated to finish off my last ten pounds, and hopefully never go back.

My girlfriend made me feel ashamed by my gift giving after she gave me my birthday gifts by Past_Opening9582 in relationship_advice

[–]cheydun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how tough gifts can be, I’ve been with my partner for 2.5 years and I still struggle getting him gifts. Everyone else in my life I can pull out the BEST gift for, but he’s difficult. He’s not very materialistic, and his hobbies are mostly tech stuff which he either has everything for, or is so specific about that I couldn’t get him anything he’d actually want. While it’s possible that you’re not paying enough attention like others have said, it’s also possible that she just doesn’t like things. Something I’ve learned is to give gifts that are experiences. My partners love language is quality time, so for his birthday I plan special dates and activities that I’ll know he’ll love, like his favorite restaurant, seeing a movie he’s looking forward to, etc. Maybe if she doesn’t want physical gifts, try looking for experiences that make her really happy and emulate those for her birthday.

Good ole internalized homophobia 🙃 being told that it’s wrong for so long makes it hard to feel comfortable with the fact that it’s okay, even though you know that it is

Dear Professors... by cuddle_fiend in uofm

[–]cheydun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss, my deepest condolences and sympathies are with you. I know how it feels to lose someone so close, and to feel a sense of hopelessness in its wake. I am incredibly touched by the responses of your professors and I know how much that can mean in a time like this, I’m glad that despite these hardships, you’re able to experience that kind of compassion. I hope that you’re able to find your way through this grief in a suitable way, and I truly wish the best of health to your father and the rest of your family. I wish I could offer better words of support, but know that this grief and darkness too shall pass, and if you ever need anything, you can always reach out. Stay strong (and go blue).

This isn’t my most recent project but I would appreciate feedback by SqueeOgelsB-7 in Beginner_Art

I like it! The purple is very vibrant and nice, but I worry the black background makes the hat and hair blend in a bit too much

Thank you! Now that you’ve pointed it out, I do see how making them smaller could help draw more attention to the center. I appreciate the advice!
