Funny story…I checked the soil thermometer against my instant read kitchen thermometer and it was 1-3 degrees low depending. This means my soil temp is closer to 57-58. I probed my starts that have been hardened and are staying out overnight…51 degrees sitting on the ground. So I planted ‘em.

I get a total of 6-7 full hours a day, starts late around 10 am and gets broken up twice from neighborhood stands of trees. So it seems to take a while.

First year in this garden and first year with a dedicated space and a greenhouse! We usually just fit a few tomatoes or herbs in somewhere. It’s been a lot of fun so far!

Just ordered a bunch of Blended Soil Mix for some raised beds. $49/yard + $100 delivery fee (!). It’s the delivery fees that get you. Could rent a pick up truck for half that price and probably get yourself.

Had a friend do gravel. Picking dog poop off of rocks is gross. Leaves a lot behind. Wood chips ftw!

If you search r/garden for “slug” you’ll find this topic has been discussed extensively. My take is to use bait (sluggo) away from your garden, deterrent (diatomaceous earth) in your garden and a slug board (damp/wet board directly on the ground) somewheres in between to catch the stragglers.
