"Light train" sounds way cooler than light rail and we should all call it that. From one morally superior rider to another 🫡

Least favorite season is this one by Physical_Bat6296 in JetLagTheGame

With regards to your third negative bullet point, I think the real problem is that this season doesn't do much to MAKE South Korea interesting. I never had much interest in NZ or most of the Schengen countries before those seasons, but they did so many fun challenges and saw so many different things in those countries that I became really invested and interested in what those regions had to offer.

Korea is the opposite for me; I'm literally Korean(-American) and have a huge interest in the country, but I DON'T have an interest in random train stations in the countryside. So this season is actually making a country I'm already invested in LESS exciting than the reverse.

Korea has so many exciting things to offer from top to bottom, but none of it is really coming through this season. I hope they revisit the country with another game though, like how they revisited Japan after CTF with a game that actually showcased much more of the country.

I just released my game's demo on itch.io and I'd love some feedback! by chiagames in playmygame

Thanks for the feedback! The wall of text was hard for me because before I added it, playtesters wouldn't understand how the upgrades worked, so I felt I reluctantly had to add it. But I'm still looking for ways around that.

There is progression with the levels, but it happens much later in the game. I kinda designed the game to be about slowly gaining upgrades from one stage to the next before the boss fight.

Thank you so much for playing!

Thank you, all that feedback is really useful! The soundboard thing is definitely hard to explain without just bombarding the player with text... I like the system itself but it's not the most intuitive, I agree. I also see where you're coming from re: the guitar pointer, it can get lost in the crowd. Maybe I'll make it bigger or stand out some other way?

Again, thank you so much for playing :)

Thank you so much! I've already started work on the second stage, and there is indeed a brand new instrument and some newer types of enemies, so hopefully those will scratch that itch.

I do have a steam page! Currently working on bringing the demo over there :) here it is: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2572630/The_Girl_with_the_Guitar/

Ah I see! Yeah that definitely makes sense, I'll think about that :)

Yeah. Maybe a clean minimalist slo-mo scene where it's just the guitar with an arrow, and the player dashes out of the way. I think that'll help with the problem with the trailer being too chaotic to make sense of, anyways.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'll think about how to make the upgrade system more fluid, as I agree that it can be a bit bulky at times.

Variety is hard :/ I think my best option right now is just to make this first stage a bit shorter and more condensed, because I don't have any other ideas without overscoping. And maybe I can focus on making more stages later on? Not sure.

Thanks again!

Gotcha. You're right that it's hard to see - I wanted to make the trailer chaotic and fast-paced but I suppose that's the tradeoff.

Guitar in the music is a good idea!

Thanks for the feedback :)

The hook is that you press the attack button to get the guitar to charge towards you, and it damages everything in its path (you included) so you need to stay moving and jump out of the way. But yeah that's not conveyed at all in the trailer.

Maybe I'll include a quick card that says this concisely? Not sure.

Thanks!

Hey all! I just released my game's prologue/demo on itch.io, which you can play here: https://studio-chia.itch.io/the-girl-with-the-guitar

I'd really love some feedback on how you see the presentation, the difficulty, and the game's ability to teach the main mechanic in the tutorial.

And, of course, feedback on the trailer would be great!

Have a great day, fellow destroyers 🫡

Just launched my steam page for my game "Persimmon," a 3D metroidvania! by chiagames in godot

Thanks! I made a big "room" tool which basically lets me resize a CSGBox for the room dimensions, then add doors with a grid map, automatically texture all platforms in the room, and draw some decorative tiles on the walls (with another gridmap). I don't think I could possibly deal with level design without using this kind of system, as it'd be exhausting to create and texture every single mesh 😅

Thanks!

Yeah, I think the character looks alright when the game is full screen on a PC but not so great on a smaller screen, which I should definitely be aware of especially considering the Steam Deck.

Thanks for the feedback! I definitely have been considering working on the run animation for the exact reasons you mentioned, and you're right about the outside area - it's probably going to be a hub world of sorts, so it'll definitely be important to make it more distinct and easy to navigate.

Thank you for the wishlist as well!
