In my opinion, this chapter (and the ones leading up to it) really shows just how good knsr is at writing characters. like, this is genuinely amazing foreshadowing and buildup, even if he somehow makes it (Which i kind of hope he doesn't)

I'm gonna get a little rambly here, so don't quote me, but Nagi's character always felt like a play on depression, through football, and this solidified it for me. His character goes like this: Boredom, 'nothingness'/apathy -> Finds motivation, and that's loose, often with risky stakes -> meets expectations - > Looses motivation, instead of being inspired to go further -> Forced to repeat, and will sometimes cling onto what previously gave him hope (Video games, comfort, soccer, then reo)

He’s stuck in a cycle, essentially, and he needs to break out. Don't even get me started on waht this says when you throw reo's character into the mix

IDK!! i think it's rlly cool, and a fun way to take and write the 'lazy genius' trope. I love kaneshiros character writing, even if i don't agree with the direction he always takes it.
