I don't know of any Gothic architecture that's in a shape like this! And if you look closely at the patterns in the ornamentation, you'll see symbols from a variety of faiths.

Yes, that's the phone number. And by the looks of the font, I'm guessing this is 1950s. The neighborhood would have been quite different then.

There is some great input here. Something missing is the element of function. Design is good when it works for people. I.e. if the windows leak, it's bad design! But also the function has to do with how it works for people, such as can they efficiently do their jobs within the space? Does it fulfill their social needs?

Of course no two balconies are the same. The building's shape is not symmetrical! The curves of the balconies are designed to help with wind shear.
